The Study Of Local Trained Supervisors' Benefits To The Growth Of Social Workers

Social work in China has been written into the government report for five times.With the strong promotion of the government,social work is developing rapidlying.Social work supervision is the key to promote the localization,professionalization and professional development of social work.The development of social work supervision has entered the decision-making level of national and local governments,and its effectiveness has also been concerned by the government and social work service organizations.Therefore,it is very important,necessary and urgent to study the effectiveness of supervision.The development of local social work industry needs local supervisory talents,but the effectiveness of local trained supervisor is still unknown,the growth of social workers is an important performance of the effectiveness of supervision.So,this study aims to explore the beneficial effect of local trained supervisor on the growth of social workers,responsing to "what is local trained supervisor ","what role does local trained supervisor play on the growth of social workers" and "what factors affect the benefits of local trained supervisor ".On the basis of consulting a large number of literature,this study collected relevant data for analysis through questionnaire and interview.The study shows that local trained supervisor is beneficial to the growth of social workers,The quality and content of supervision are the most important factors affecting the effectiveness of local trained supervisor.Mastering professional skills,establishing correct values of social work,and being familiar with the knowledge related to the service are the most necessary qualities for local trained supervisor.The benefits of local trained supervisor to promote the growth of social workers is mainly presented in the following aspects:First,local trained supervisor is beneficial to the growth of social workers.Local trained supervisors enhance the effectiveness of social workers by leading and demonstrating professional capabilities,supplementing practical knowledge,motivating social workers,expanding their horizons and enhancing their sense of gain.Second,local trained supervisors enhance social workers' value.Local trained supervisor promotes the internalization of social workers' professional values,enhances their professional self-confidence,and thereby enhances professional recognition.Third,being problem oriented,local trained supervisor support on social workers' practical skills and emotions.Local trained supervisors play an important role in teaching practical skills and alleviating psychological pressure of social workers.Fourth,the close physical distance of local trained supervisor help social workers to grow up.Local trained supervisors have the same geographical identity with social workers,are familiar with the development process of social workers,and can give guidance to social workers.The factors affecting the effects of local trained supervisor include subjective ones and objective ones,mainly refer to the personal factors of the supervisor,the factors related to the social worker(attitude,inclination and ability,profession development phase),the relationship between the supervisor and the social worker,the status of the program,the orientation of the social work organization towards the supervisor,the industry environment;Instructions on social worker promotion are the followings: self-improvement of the supervisor,enhancing the coordination between supervisor and social workers,perfection of the supervision details,hardening the relation between the supervisor and the organization.On the basis of overall analysis,the author presents six suggestions on how local trained supervisor promotes the development of social workers.Upgrade the supervisor's quality;Optimize the supervision frequency and contents;Pay attention to social worker's selfimprovement;Build up a good relation between the supervisor and social worker;Create a study-oriented atmosphere in the social work organization;Standardize the profession development of the supervisor.
