Taxanomic Study On The Leafhopper Tribe Paralimnini (Hemiptera:Cicadellidae:Deltocephalinae) From China

The tribe Paralimnini Distant 1908 is distributed worldwide and currently contains 129 genera and about 500 species.Among them,26 genera and 66 species were recorded from China.Most members of the tribe are closely associated with grass dominated habitats.The tribe paralimnini from China is reviewed and 61 species of 34 genera are recorded in this paper,including 4 new species:Arocephalus longitus sp.nov.from Xinjiang,Diplocolenus gracilis sp.nov.from Inner Mongolia,Mocuastrum arctus sp.nov.from Ningxia and Sorhoanus splitus sp.nov.from Hebei.Moreover,the eight genera:Arocephalus Ribaut,Boreotettix Lindberg,Coelestinus(Melichar),Emeljanovianus Dlabola,Jassargus Zachvatkin,kaszabinus Dlabola,Mocuastrum Emeljanov,Philaia Dlabola n.rec.and thirteen species:Boreotettix ribauti Emeljanov,Coelestinus incertus(Melichar),Diplocolenus(Verdanus)evansi(Ashmead),Diplocolenus frauenfeldi Fieber,Diplocolenus sichotanus Anufriev,Emeljanovianus hilaris(Melichar),Emeljanovianus medius Mulsant&Rey,Jassargus alpinus(Then),kaszabinus burjata(Kusnezov),Mocuastrum kungurtuki Vilbaste,Philaia jassargiforma Dlabola,Pinumius areatus(Stal),Sorhoanus tritici(Matsumura),are recorded for the first time from China.Four new synonyms are revealed,Didymotettix kunlunnic Yang syn.nov.(=Mocuellus minor Vilbaste,1965),Falcitettix sibiricus Linnavuori syn.nov.(=Mocuellus guttiger Kusnezov,1929),Sorhoanus huanglutus Kuoh syn.nov.(=Sorhoanus arsenjevi Anufriev),Takagiella hankukensis Kwon&Lee syn.nov.(=Takagiella tezuyae(Matsumura,1902)).All the new taxa are described and illustrated.A check-list with taxonomic notes as well as a generic key to Chinese Paralimnini are also provided.The type specimen of the new species are deposited respectively in Northwest A&F University.
