Mudslide is one of the geological disasters that occur in mountainous areas of China and cause great damage to people’s production and life.The rapid simulation of mudslide evolution process can help the comprehensive analysis of the disaster,which is important for the pre-disaster warning and post-disaster rescue.The research process of dynamic visualization of mudflow in this paper mainly includes establishing mudflow data based on monitoring data and equations of motion,completing the construction of 3D terrain,and realizing the process of dynamic visualization of mudflow.The main research work and results of the paper are as follows.(1)Based on remote sensing data to get real terrain data,pre-process the data and select a suitable grid storage model.Based on the mudflow monitoring data,we analyze and compare the mudflow equation of motion and simulate the mudflow data by using the flow mass model,and save the data in JSON format,and optimize the data by removing redundant data and speed up the rendering time.(2)Proposed an improved quadtree LOD 3D terrain construction algorithm.Based on the grid-stored DEM data,a node evaluation system with viewpoint distance,viewpoint velocity,and surface roughness as evaluation criteria is established to ensure the terrain nodes are divided to suitable accuracy under different resolutions based on the selection of suitable drawing methods,while the AABB enclosing box model is used to determine the viewable domain cropping range.For the phenomenon of cracks appearing in the experiment,the method of adjusting the vertex height is used to ensure the smoothness of drawing and the removal of cracks.Finally,the performance of the algorithm is compared and analyzed by the drawing frame rate and the number of triangular nets.The effects of three factors of the node evaluation system on terrain drawing are discussed separately.The experimental results show that the algorithm in this paper can reduce the number of terrain nodes drawn when drawing a large terrain and has a better effect on crack removal.(3)Build a mudflow visualization interactive system,and design and implement a dynamic visualization scene design of mudflow based on HTML5 and Web GL technology.Texture mapping and cyclic rendering in Three.js are used to achieve the realistic rendering of mudflow dynamic visualization.And an interactive system on the Web side is implemented based on the monitoring data of Jiangjiagou in Dongchuan,Yunnan.The experimental results show that the method proposed in this paper can achieve rapid simulation of mudslide disaster evolution process,which can provide good decision support for scientific research and science education.
