As the first economic belt linking the less developed regions in the west and the developed regions in the east in China, the Pearl River-West River Economic Belt has an important strategic position in the national coordinated regional development,in which Foshan,Zhaoqing and Yunfu in Guangdong area in the economic belt belong to strong manufacturing cities, while the cities in Guangxi region have backward manufacturing development level and low economic development level. In order to realize the planning goal of the Pearl RiverWest River Economic Belt and create a new regional growth pole,Guangxi will need to lay out a new regional industrial pattern urgently.Under the background of industrialization and informatization in the new era,it is an important way for Guangxi to achieve high-quality development by using the advantageous conditions of the economic belt to promote the formation of manufacturing industry clusters and thus serve the coordinated development of the region. The development of Pearl River-West River Economic Belt emphasizes the ecological civilization of the basin, and the high-quality economic development is inevitably inseparable from the coordinated development of green economy.Based on the perspective of manufacturing industry, this paper studies the influence of manufacturing agglomeration in the Pearl River-West River Economic Belt on the level of coordinated development of green economy, and provides a basis for realizing high-quality manufacturing agglomeration. This paper sorts out the connotation of industrial agglomeration and green economy, and reviews the existing research status of industrial agglomeration and green development.Considering the current situation of the development of Pearl River-West Economic Belt, this paper firstly analyzes the shortcomings of previous studies on the measurement method of green development level and the research on the influence of manufacturing agglomeration. And then this paper analyzes the mechanism of manufacturing agglomeration on the coordinated development of green economy, introduces the squared term of manufacturing agglomeration, and constructs a spatial Durbin model to explore the spatial dependence of manufacturing agglomeration and coordinated development of green economy and its nonlinear influence utility. The main research contents and conclusions of this paper are as follows:Firstly, this paper selects the locational entropy to measure the level of manufacturing agglomeration and constructs the evaluation index system of coordinated development of green economy. With 11 prefecture-level cities in Pearl River-West Economic Belt as the research objects, this paper determines the index weights by the entropy method, and adopts the utility function synthesis method to measure the level of coordinated development of green economy from 2013 to 2020.In general, the level of manufacturing agglomeration in the Pearl River-West River Economic Belt tends to be stable and have a large gap between the east and west.Economic Belt basically formed a "V"-shaped distribution of agglomeration pattern from east to west. The level of coordinated development of green economy shows a gradual increase, and the Economic Belt is seriously polarized, showing the regional characteristics of high development level in the east and low in the west, while the average annual growth rate is low in the east and high in the west.Secondly, the spatial autocorrelation test of the level of coordinated green economy development is conducted based on the weighting matrix combining economic and geographical distance, and the spatial Durbin model is constructed to empirically analyze the spatial dependence of manufacturing agglomeration and the level of coordinated green economy development. The results show that the distribution of the coordinated development level of green economy in the Pearl River-West River Economic Belt is not random, and there is a significant positive spatial correlation, showing a significant spatial state of high value and high value agglomeration in four cities of Guangdong, and low value and low value agglomeration in seven cities of Guangxi; The impact of manufacturing agglomeration on the level of coordinated development of green economy shows an inverted "U" non-linear relationship. Finally, the spatial spillover effect of manufacturing agglomeration on the coordinated development of green economy is analyzed through spatial effect decomposition. The results show that promoting manufacturing agglomeration can not only improve the coordinated development of green economy in the region, but also promote the coordinated development of green economy in neighboring regions through spatial spillover effect, and the reverse effect occurs at a later stage; The heterogeneity analysis shows that the impact of manufacturing agglomeration on the coordinated development of green economy has an inverted "U" shape regardless of whether agglomeration advantage is formed or not,but the impact on areas without agglomeration advantage is not significant.
