Study On The Relationship Between Geological Hazards And Regional Geological Environment In Guangxin District,Shangrao City,Jiangxi Province | | Posted on:2024-08-08 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | | Country:China | Candidate:X Jiang | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:2530307139487974 | Subject:Geology | | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | | The Guangxin District of Shangrao City,Jiangxi Province,is located near the contact zone between the Yangtze Plate and the South China Plate.It is situated in the middle section of the second-level unit,which includes the Jiangnan orogeny and the Qinhang orogenic belt.The area has undergone various tectonic movements from the Paleozoic to the Cenozoic,resulting in a well-developed stratigraphy and extremely complex geological structures.These factors have led to frequent geological hazard activities.Therefore,studying the geological background of this region and understanding its influence on geological hazards can help deepen our understanding of the causes of geological hazards and provide scientific recommendations for their prevention and control.Based on the investigation and analysis of basic geological data within the Guangxin District,as well as the existing 445 landslides(hidden dangers),216 collapses(hidden dangers),9 debris flows,and 20 ground collapses,totaling 690 geological hazards and hidden danger points,this study analyzes the developmental characteristics of geological hazards in the region and their distribution patterns in different geological environments.Additionally,during field surveys,particular attention was given to the observation of widespread joint structures within the area,and their orientation data were combined with the distribution of geological structures to analyze the overall tectonic stress direction and summarize the regional structural patterns.The following insights and conclusions were obtained:1.Geological hazards(hidden dangers)within the Guangxin District of Shangrao City are influenced by lithology and geological structural conditions.They are primarily concentrated in the central depression basin of the study area,with a wide distribution in the hilly mountainous areas on both sides of the basin.This is due to the fact that magmatic and clastic rock bodies are prone to intense weathering and fragmentation,leading to the instability of rock structures and a higher occurrence of hazards in these areas.Additionally,geological hazards in the region are more concentrated within the influence range of fault structures.They are controlled by "locked segments" of fault structures and exhibit apparent hanging-wall effects.Landslides,debris flows,and ground collapses are more common on the sides of normal faults and sinistral strike-slip faults,while collapses are more developed on the sides of reverse faults and dextral strike-slip faults.2.The development of geological hazards(hidden dangers)within the Guangxin District of Shangrao City is primarily influenced by atmospheric precipitation.From March to July each year,the region experiences frequent and heavy rainfall.The infiltration of rainwater into slopes softens the rock and soil mass,reduces cohesion,decreases the internal friction angle,and lubricates weak structural surfaces,thereby inducing slope failures.3.The overall distribution of structures within the Guangxin District of Shangrao City exhibits a NEE-SWW trend.Joint structures display conjugate features,with the dominant orientation of joints concentrated between 310°-320° and 0°-10°.These two orientations of joints are conjugate to each other.The region is mainly subjected to compressive stress in the NNW-SSE direction.The regional structural phenomena comprise a set of simple sinistral strike-slip fault structures:(1)NW-trending dextral strike-slip faults;(2)NE-trending sinistral strike-slip faults;(3)folds with an axial trend approximately in the NEE direction;(4)NEEtrending thrust faults;(5)faults controlled by folds,with the overall wings trending in the NEE direction.Accordingly,different types of structural phenomena can be addressed by deploying appropriate disaster prevention and mitigation measures.4.In regional geological hazard prevention and control work,based on the aforementioned content,further exploration of potential joint fractures with slopes oriented SW and NNE as well as the identification of later-formed tension cracks would be beneficial.This can help determine the nature of undetermined structural phenomena,thereby enhancing the detection rate of potential geological hazards and improving the effectiveness of existing geological hazard prevention and control measures. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | The Guangxin District of Shangrao City, Geological hazards, Geological structure, Conjugate joints, Tectonic stress | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
