Research On Tourism Development Efficiency Of Six Provinces In Central China Based On DEA Model

The report of the 19 th CPC Central Committee pointed out that the most important thing for China’s current development is to give priority to improving efficiency under the premise of ensuring quality.Tourism has a strong economic attribute,improving quality and efficiency is also an important task of China’s tourism development.The central region has the regional advantage of radiating to the whole country and plays an important pivotal position in the pattern of coordinated regional economic development.From previous studies on tourism efficiency,the efficiency level of China’s tourism industry has long presented a spatial distribution of high in the southeast and low in the northwest.The realization of economic growth and tourism development in the central region will help maintain the economic development level of the eastern region and drive the economic development of the northwest region.Therefore,from the overall perspective of the region,it is of great significance to explore the current situation of tourism development in the central region and find the road to improve the efficiency of tourism in the central region.Research on tourism efficiency at home and abroad is fruitful,but few studies on the efficiency of tourism development in various provinces from the perspective of the whole region are involved.In-depth study of the central region tourism development,so as to improve the efficiency of the central region tourism,promote the development of the provinces in central China tourism,to get through southeast and northwest tourism elements into space and overflow barriers,solve inside area,as well as regional and regional tourism development imbalance between insufficient question is critical.On the basis of summarizing and integrating the obtained information and relevant literature,this paper clarified the research background and significance,defined the concept of tourism,sorted out the relationship between relevant theories,and constructed the analysis framework of tourism development efficiency in six central provinces.Data envelopment analysis(DEA)and Malmquist index analysis(Malmquist index)were used to measure the tourism efficiency level and return to scale of 6 provinces and8 decision making units in central China from 2010 to 2019.Manquist index analysis method is used to analyze the variation trend of tourism resource allocation,utilization and scale in central China.The distribution of tourism efficiency in different provinces in different years is calculated according to the coefficient of variation.The main conclusions are as follows:(1)The allocation of tourism resources in central China is unreasonable,and the problems of resource waste and resource insufficiency exist simultaneously.Due to the unreasonable allocation of resources,when improving the projection of the non-effective values of tourism efficiency in the provinces of central China,many provinces need to increase output while reducing input indicators.(2)The spatial difference of tourism efficiency in central China decreases.From 2010 to 2019,the tourism efficiency level of all provinces in central China fluctuated to varying degrees,and the degree of dispersion decreased.Among them,four provinces,Anhui,Henan,Hubei and Hunan,achieved effective brigade technical efficiency and each decomposition efficiency in 2019.Jiangxi province did not achieve effective production levels during the study period.(3)The development level of tourism in different provinces is not balanced.The coordinated development of tourism in all provinces in central China has not been realized.Except Jiangxi province,all provinces in the central region showed non-decreasing returns to scale,but the central region as a whole showed decreasing returns to scale from 2015 to 2019.Each province in the central region develops tourism independently to achieve its own maximum benefit level.But for the central region as a whole,the development of provinces can no longer rely on expansion to achieve efficiency growth.Finally,through the analysis of the research results,aiming at the problems existing in the development of tourism in the six provinces of central China,the paper puts forward the strengthening of science and technology empowerment and optimization of resource allocation.Accelerate industrial integration and strengthen weak links in development;Adhere to the concept of sustainable development,promote regional coordinated development of improvement suggestions,expected to help the six provinces in the central tourism development efficiency,promote the central economic development.
