| Rural settlements are the living space of different rural populations and the carrier of the spatial distribution of rural population.Due to the impact of limited documentation,large spatial differences,disasters,wars,and other factors,it is relatively difficult to obtain data on rural settlements in historical periods.At present,against the backdrop of coordinated urban-rural development and accelerated new urbanization,the spatiotemporal pattern of rural land use is greatly affected.Exploring the evolution laws and characteristics of rural settlements in the medium to long term,and providing scientific reference suggestions for rural land improvement,village construction,and land intensive use.Therefore,by means of landscape pattern index analysis and nuclear density analysis,based on the support of historical remote sensing images from 1980 to 2020,this paper summarizes the spatial-temporal pattern evolution characteristics of rural settlements in Zhangbei County during this period On this basis,we developed a method for reconstructing historical data using a coupled Logistic-CA-Markov model.Using the model,we traced the land use patterns of historical periods,and obtained spatiotemporal pattern data of historical rural settlements in medium and long time scales at a resolution of 30 m.Retrospective simulation of the distribution pattern of rural settlements in 1949.Finally,the evolution pattern and rules of rural settlements in China’s agro pastoral ecotone(Zhangbei County)on a medium to long time scale(nearly 70 years)are analyzed.The results show that:(1)From 1970 to 2020,the area of cultivated land,grassland,and bare land in Zhangbei County showed a decreasing trend,while the area of rural settlements,forest land,urban and other construction land showed an increasing trend.Overall,the rural settlements change rate of Zhangbei County was relatively slow and the range was relatively small during 1980-2000,and the speed and range of rural settlements change from 2000 to2020 were relatively large;(2)The coupling model we developed has good feasibility in tracing back to the historical period of rural settlements.Using remote sensing data from 1970to test the accuracy of the simulation results,it is shown that the Kappa coefficient reaches0.87 and the simulation accuracy is high,indicating a high simulation accuracy,which indicates that the model is suitable for the land use simulation research in the study area;(3)From 1949 to 2020,the overall area of rural settlements in Zhangbei County expanded by149.28km~2,resulting in significant changes in the pattern of rural settlements;The main evolution stages can be roughly divided into three periods.From 1949 to 1970,the expansion of rural settlements showed a trend based on the expansion of original settlements to the periphery,with balanced development of each township;From 1971 to 2000,the number of rural settlements increased significantly,and the regional differences in area expansion became larger;From 2001 to 2020,there was a significant trend of concentrated and continuous expansion of rural settlements area in some townships,with significant differences in changes among different townships.According to the standard deviation ellipse distribution results,the distribution center of rural settlements has shifted 7.6 km to the southeast,and the concentration degree of rural settlements is also increasing. |
