Infrared spectroscopy is a powerful tool for determining the molecular composition and structure of substances, and has been widely used in the fields of drug analysis, material analysis, and chemical analysis.Among them,FTIR spectroscopy has become the first choice for analyzing the structure of many substances because of its high sensitivity, convenience and speed. The study of infrared absorption spectroscopy of complex mixture systems can solve many realistic and difficult problems, and has been the direction of research for many experts and scholars. The emergence of chemometrics has developed the combination of computer technology and spectroscopic information into an emerging field of chemistry, which has become a new way to study complex mixture systems. In this paper,FTIR spectroscopy combined with chemometrics is used for non-destructive research and analysis of antique printing and reproduction materials.FTIR spectroscopy is used to directly and nondestructively measure the infrared spectra of six types of sample papers and seven types of paper sizing agents, which are processed by wavelet transform and then combined with various mathematical methods of multivariate statistical analysis for identification and analysis studies.Firstly, the categories of antique printing and reproduction materials and the status of previous domestic and international research on antique printing and reproduction materials were summarized through literature research.Secondly, the FTIR spectroscopy and chemometrics methods used in this paper are introduced in detail. Then, six kinds of paper and seven kinds of sizing agents for printing and reproduction of antique books from different origins are selected and experimented. Finally,we propose to use various molecular spectroscopy techniques combined with multivariate statistical analysis to establish a general identification model for rapid and nondestructive identification and analysis of ancient book printing and reproduction materials, and validate the model with five different brands of Shengxuan.1.Six kinds of paper for antique book printing and reproduction of different origins were selected, and the differences could not be identified by microscopy and fiber analysis experiments. Then all samples were tested directly by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and it was found that in the one-dimensional infrared spectrum, six kinds of paper for antique book printing and reproduction of different origins showed similar infrared patterns, and it was difficult to identify and distinguish them simply by the information of functional groups in the infrared spectrum.A series of chemometric methods can effectively classify the six samples of antique printing and reproduction paper of different origins, and the results of various analytical methods can be verified with each other, providing some feasibility for the application of molecular spectroscopy in the analysis and identification of antique printing and reproduction paper.2.Identification study of several different types of sizing agents for antique book printing and reproduction. The differences could not be identified by microscopic observation experiments, and then the infrared spectra of a total of 23 samples of seven sizing agents were tested by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. It was found that plant gums, animal gums and chemical gums could be quickly identified from the onedimensional infrared spectra, and the infrared profiles of four plant-based starch sizing agents were similar, and it was difficult to distinguish them simply by the information of functional groups in the infrared spectra.A series of chemometric methods can effectively classify the starch sizing agent samples of the four different plant species, and the results of the various analytical methods can be mutually verified, providing some feasibility for the application of molecular spectroscopy in the analysis and identification of sizing agents for printing and reproduction of antique books.3.summarize and compare the identification methods in ancient book printing and reproduction materials.Based on the application of FTIR spectroscopy in the identification of ancient book printing and reproduction materials,we propose to use various molecular spectroscopy techniques combined with a variety of multivariate statistical analysis of mathematical algorithms to establish a general model for achieving rapid and nondestructive identification and analysis of ancient book printing and reproduction materials, which has the advantages of simplicity, nondestructiveness and efficiency, and validate the model with five different brands of Shengxuan as an example. The results of the study showed that although the results of traditional testing methods for printing and reproduction materials of antique books are accurate, most of them are lossy analysis, which is not quite in line with the principles of conservation of antique books, and the process of analysis is also tedious, which not only requires high operating skills and experimental ability of operators, but also for some antique books with serious aging and degradation, the traditional testing methods may not be able to analyze and identify them.Spectroscopy combined with discrete wavelet transform analysis and various chemometric methods has the advantages of being fast, convenient and nondestructive.Through the above study, this thesis hopes to provide some reference for the application of molecular spectroscopy nondestructive analysis technology in the analysis and identification of ancient printed copy materials.
