Research On The Chinese Folk Arts And Crafts (1984-1996)

Chinese Folk Arts and Crafts is a series of academic journals edited by Mr.Zhang Daoyi,a famous arts and crafts scholar and artist,and is the only academic journal dedicated to folk crafts,folk arts and "new works of folk style" at the early stage of reform and opening up.It is not only a forum for theoretical research and academic exchange on folk crafts,but also a reference and learning ground for arts and crafts practice and creation,and still has an important academic-historical value in the research of folk arts and design today.However,Chinese Folk Arts and Crafts has not attracted much attention from the academic community,and there is still a lack of systematic sorting and overall research.In view of this,this paper attempts to conduct a holistic study of Chinese Folk Arts and Crafts in a more comprehensive perspective by combing the magazine’s founding,development history,academic philosophy,as well as framing techniques and article perspectives in the context of the development of modern Chinese design,and seeking ideological enlightenment for the development of modern Chinese art and design.With the purpose of cultural accumulation and exchange,and under the guidance of the concept of "promoting folk crafts",the magazine’s academic thinking,theoretical research,practical exploration and frame design all have distinctive folk cultural characteristics.Firstly,the theoretical research of the magazine follows the development of the times,takes folk art as the basis for the development of arts and crafts,attaches importance to the systematic research of folk art and crafts,and devotes itself to the return of folk art and crafts in life.Secondly,the journal broadens the horizon of folk art research by learning from and studying foreign folk art theories such as those of Japan and Germany,as well as comparative studies of folklore,psychology and other related disciplines,and promotes the structure of the basic framework of the discipline of "Chinese folk art" and makes it an important part of Chinese art,so as to establish the Chinese national culture system.system.Furthermore,the magazine explores the inheritance education and innovative design of folk arts,advocating that the teaching methods and innovative design of folk arts should be based on the present,conform to the development rules of folk arts,and maintain the ethnicity and culture of folk arts.Finally,the magazine’s binding design analyzes the magazine cover,content arrangement,printing and binding techniques,highlighting the magazine’s folk aesthetic quality of "elegance in the midst of vulgarity",revealing folk cultural tastes,and reflecting strong visual effects in the composition form to create a strong folk art atmosphere.With its rich content,numerous perspectives and different research angles,the magazine still has a lasting academic-historical value.
