The survival of human beings cannot be separated from the ecological environment.With the rapid development of society,the contradiction between human and ecological environment is becoming more and more prominent,and ecological environmental protection has become a challenge that all countries need to face together.An objective and comprehensive evaluation of the regional ecological environment quality is beneficial to the sustainable development of regional economy and environment.The Landsat images of2000,2009,2013,2017 and 2020 from the main urban areas of five Yangtze River coastal cities in Anhui Province(Maanshan,Wuhu,Tongling,Chizhou,and Anqing)are used as research data,and the extracted greenness,humidity,heat and dryness indices are coupled based on principal component analysis to construct the remote sensing ecological index RSEI,which is combined with other methods and data to analyze the changes of ecological environment quality in the main urban areas of five Yangtze River coastal cities in Anhui Province.The conclusions of this paper are as follows.(1)The mean values of greenness and humidity indicators in the study area from2000 to 2020 showed an overall increasing trend;the mean values of heat and dryness indicators in the study area showed a decreasing trend.(2)The mean values of RSEI in 2000,2009,2013,2017 and 2020 for the main urban areas of the cities in the study area are as follows: the mean values of RSEI in Maanshan are 0.515,0.559,0.544,0.585,0.580;the mean values of RSEI in Wuhu are 0.494,0.552,0.545,0.571,0.579 The mean values of RSEI in Tongling were 0.517,0.560,0.528,0.538,0.563;the mean values of RSEI in Chizhou were 0.482,0.522,0.632,0.597,0.670;the mean values of RSEI in Anqing were 0.470,0.515,0.587,0.563,0.605.The mean values of RSEI in the study area during 2000-2020 were all on an increasing trend,and the overall ecological environment quality in the study area showed a trend of getting better.(3)The greenness and dryness of each main urban area in the study area have more influence on RSEI than humidity and heat.(4)Through the correlation degree analysis between the six factors of total year-end population,gross primary industry,gross secondary industry,gross tertiary industry,average annual precipitation and average annual temperature and the remote sensing ecological index,it was found that the total year-end population and average annual temperature in the study area had a greater influence on the remote sensing ecological index than the other four factors.(5)From 2000 to 2020,the area of grassland,waters,woodland and arable land in the main urban area of Maanshan City will decrease,and the area of unused land and construction land will increase;the area of grassland,waters,woodland and arable land in the main urban area of Wuhu City will decrease,and the area of construction land will increase;the area of grassland,waters,woodland and arable land in the main urban area of Tongling City will decrease,and the area of unused land and construction land will increase;the area of arable land,waters and woodland in the main urban area of Chizhou City will decrease,and the area of unused land,grassland and construction land will increase;the area of waters,grassland,woodland,unused land and arable land in the main urban area of Anqing City will decrease,and the area of construction land will increase.(6)From 2000 to 2020,the type of coupling coordination in the main urban area of Maanshan City changes from close to disorder to close to coordination;the type of coupling coordination in the main urban area of Wuhu City changes from mild disorder to close to coordination;the type of coupling coordination in the main urban area of Tongling City changes from close to disorder to close to coordination;the type of coupling coordination in the main urban area of Chizhou City changes from moderate disorder to close to disorder;the type of coupling coordination in the main urban area of Anqing City changes from mild disorder to close to coordination.
