Acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesives are self-adhesive materials with both liquid and solid properties.However,acrylate pressure-sensitive adhesives are extremely flammable due to the fact that the molecular chain contains mainly C,H and O elements.Up to now,the research of flame retardant modification of acrylate pressure-sensitive adhesives has many problems.For example,it is difficult to combine flame retardancy and mechanical properties of pressure-sensitive adhesives at the same time.In fact,the demand for acrylate pressure-sensitive adhesives is huge,so it is necessary to develop green and low-cost flame-retardant acrylate pressure-sensitive adhesives.In this study,we focuses on the preparation process and flame retardant properties of acrylate pressure-sensitive adhesives,with the aim of achieving a balance between flame retardant and mechanical properties of acrylate pressure-sensitive adhesives.(1)The preparation process of solvent-based acrylate pressure-sensitive adhesives was investigated using iso-octyl acrylate and butyl acrylate as soft monomers,vinyl acetate as hard monomer,and hydroxyethyl acrylate and acrylic acid as functional monomers.It was found that the best overall performance of the pressure-sensitive adhesive was achieved when the initiator dosage was 0.45 wt% and the reaction temperature was 78 °C,and the monomer ratio was m(iso-octyl acrylate): m(butyl acrylate): m(vinyl acetate): m(acrylic acid): m(hydroxyethyl acrylate)= 65: 16.3: 13:3.8: 1.9,and on this basis,small-scale,pilot and industrial production was carried out.(2)By screening the types of flame retardants and their dosages,it was found that when 10wt% of tributyl phosphate and aluminium hydroxide were added in a compound flame retardant with a mass fraction ratio of 3:2,the flame retardant grade of the pressure sensitive adhesive reached grade 1.(3)The flame retardant monomer 2-acryloyloxyethyl phosphate diethyl ester was prepared from trichloroxaphos,2-hydroxyethyl acrylate and anhydrous ethaanhydrous ethanol.When 5wt% of this flame retardant monomer was added,the acrylate pressure sensitive adhesive had poor flame retardant properties with a flame retardant grade of3.And when its addition exceeds 5wt%,gel burst aggregation occurs again.(4)On the basis of the acrylate flame retardant adhesive with a flame retardant monomer content of 5wt%,a certain amount of compounding flame retardant was added to successfully prepare a composite acrylate flame retardant adhesive.It was found that when the amount of compounding flame retardant was 6wt%,the flame retardant grade was 1,and the flame retardant performance was excellent and did not affect the mechanical properties of acrylate,achieving a balance between the mechanical properties and flame retardant performance of pressure sensitive adhesive. |
