The emulsion of acrylate-based glue is the products of emulsion copolymerization reaction, in the emulsion, acrylate or its substituent-containing acrylate monomer react with vinyl esters. Besides of ester groups, there are many other polar groups in the emulsion polymer, including carboxyl, hydroxyl groups. Those special groups make it resistant to water, acid and base. At present, the manufacture of glue emulsion is still deficient and hard to meets the needs of market. So much of efforts should be paid into the development of high-performance glue.Polyester fibers are the synthetic fiber with the largest yield in the world, it has the excellent properties of high breaking strength and elasticity modulus, moderate rebound resilience, resistance to organic solvent, oxidation, corrosion, acid and base. Polyester fiber non-woven fabrics have widely applications in architecture industry agriculture, daily life and other fields. In order to further improve the performance polyester fiber non-woven fabrics, more measurements should de made in the post-treatment process, including glue painting.What should be pointed out is that the non-woven fabrics have poor transverse rupture strength and likely to suffer from contraction deformation. Regularly, two-component modified acrylate emulsion will be applied to improve the above-mentioned properties. However, the domestic study of acrylate emulsion glue on longitudinal tensile strength is still difficult to meets the requirements. On the other hand, polyester fiber’s limiting oxygen index is about 21%, which means the polyester fiber is flammable. So, further inflaming retarding modification is of great significance. Though there are various of halogen and phosphate flame retardant, no the corresponding inflaming retarding glue emulsion can be found at present market. In regular manufacture process of polyester fiber inflaming retarding non-woven fabrics, two-step procedures that glue and flame retardant painting make it time- and power-consuming. In order to reduce energy consumption, working hours, and cost, it is necessary to develop flame retardant glue emulsion, so that the one-step foam spray method can be used in the production of flame retardant adhesive non-woven fabric.In according to the global market’s requirements, this paper was devoted to develop environmentally friendly, high tensile strength A and B dual-component acrylic ester glue emulsion and acrylate-based inflaming retarding glue emulsion. The achievements are as follows:(1) By adjusting the mass proportion of soft, hard and functional monomers, adopting seed polymerization and pre-emulsification technology, we synthesized modified acrylate-based glue emulsion (A component) and the corresponding amino resin cross-linking agent (B component). Painting the mixture of A, B at a certain proportion on the130g/m2 punched non-woven fabrics, and then dried at 180 C, we got the 160g/m2 punched non-woven fabrics with transverse rupture strength≥420N/5cm. After glue painting, the 220g/m2 punched non-woven fabrics was became about 250g/m2, transverse rupture strength >420N/5cm, which paved the pathway to develop high transverse rupture strength adhesive cloth.(2) with non-toxic, low volatility, highly cyclized halogen-free phosphate ester flame retardants, acrylate emulsion glue and hex-methoxymethyl melamine as raw materials, we developed environmentally friendly, soluble A、B dual-component halogen-free phosphate ester inflaming retarding glue emulsion. At the same time, we firstly adopted foam spray method to make polyester fiber hot rolling inflaming retarding non-woven cloth from polyester fiber hot rolling non-woven fabrics in a one-step pathway. It simplified the manufacture procedures, reduced the production time, power, and cost and improved quality of products. These works established the theoretical basis of production of cost-effective polyester fiber hot rolling inflaming retarding non-woven cloth.
