| With the gradual strengthening of carbon emission regulations, how to promote the transformation and upgrading of my country’s manufacturing industry has become a key issue of academic and social concern. As an environmental constraint, carbon emission regulations increase the carbon emission cost of manufacturing enterprises, forcing enterprises to incorporate carbon dioxide emissions into their strategic decision-making framework, thereby affecting corporate behavior, and promoting enterprises to promote the transformation and upgrading of my country’s manufacturing industry through technological innovation.Based on this, this paper takes the transformation and upgrading of the manufacturing industry as the research object, and discusses the impact of carbon emission regulations on the transformation and upgrading of my country’s manufacturing industry and the role of corporate technological innovation in it.First of all,on the basis of combing the relevant literature, according to relevant theories, from the perspective of corporate behavior, this paper analyzes the direct impact of carbon emission regulation on the transformation and upgrading of my country’s manufacturing industry, further introduces corporate technological innovation, and discusses the role of corporate technological innovation in carbon emission regulation.Influencing the intermediary role in the transformation and upgrading of my country’s manufacturing industry.Secondly, the current situation of my country’s carbon emission regulation and manufacturing transformation and upgrading is analyzed.Based on the above analysis, this paper finally selected the panel data of 30 provinces in my country from 2011 to2021,introduced enterprise technological innovation as an intermediary variable, and used the intermediary effect model and two-way fixed effect model to empirically test the impact of carbon emission regulation on the transformation and upgrading of my country’s manufacturing industry.and the intermediary role of enterprise technological innovation, and tested whether there is regional heterogeneity in the impact of carbon emission regulation on the transformation and upgrading of manufacturing industry in three regions: east, middle and west. The research found that:(1)my country’s manufacturing technology advanced level shows an overall upward trend, which shows that the transformation and upgrading of my country’s manufacturing industry has achieved remarkable results.(2)Carbon emission regulations can not only directly promote the transformation and upgrading of my country’s manufacturing industry, but also have a positive impact on the transformation and upgrading of my country’s manufacturing industry by promoting technological innovation of enterprises.(3)The effect of carbon emission regulation on the transformation and upgrading of manufacturing industry has regional heterogeneity.Carbon emission regulation has significantly promoted the transformation and upgrading of manufacturing industry in the eastern and central regions of my country, and the promotion effect on the eastern region is greater than that in the central region.Carbon emission regulation The hindering effect on the transformation and upgrading of the manufacturing industry in the western region is not statistically significant. The research value of this paper lies in the discovery of the positive role of corporate technological innovation in promoting the transformation and upgrading of my country’s manufacturing industry through carbon emission regulation. Therefore, this paper believes that the Chinese government should pay attention to the potential of using carbon emission regulation to promote the transformation and upgrading of my country’s manufacturing industry, strengthen the deep integration between carbon emission regulation and enterprise technological innovation, and formulate scientifically differentiated carbon emission standards according to the development characteristics of manufacturing industries in different regions.emission reduction policies to promote the high-quality development of my country’s manufacturing industry. |
