Environmental Regulation And The Choice Of Manufacturing Transformation And Upgrading Path In Beijing,Tianjin And Hebei | | Posted on:2022-09-24 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | | Country:China | Candidate:J F Yan | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:2491306518492974 | Subject:International Trade | | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | | The development level of manufacturing industry represents the productivity level of the country or region and is the "engine" of regional economic development.After 40 years of rapid development of reform and opening up,China’s manufacturing industry has already surpassed the scale of developed countries,and is now in the transition stage from a "big manufacturing country" to a "powerful manufacturing country".However,at the same time,manufacturing industry,as the major industry of pollution emission,has also caused serious damage to the ecological environment.With the gradual implementation and strengthening of environmental regulations,the development of manufacturing industry will inevitably be affected to a certain extent.2021 is the seventh year that Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development has become a national strategy.Under this background,clarifying the impact of environmental regulations on the transformation and upgrading of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei manufacturing industry is related to the improvement and development of the overall competitiveness of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.Therefore,this paper studies the impact of environmental regulation on the transformation and upgrading of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei manufacturing industry and puts forward targeted countermeasures and suggestions according to the conclusions.First of all,the externality theory,Porter hypothesis and other related theories of environmental regulation are explained,and the connotation of manufacturing industry and its transformation and upgrading is defined.Then,the present situation of environmental regulation in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei is elaborated in detail from two aspects: establishment and development of environmental regulation system,investment and effectiveness of environmental regulation governance,and the present situation of transformation and upgrading of manufacturing industry in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei is combed from three aspects:economic structure and actual use of foreign capital,manufacturing industry and its internal structure,high-tech industry and its export status.Then,the direct and indirect impact paths of environmental regulation on the transformation and upgrading of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei manufacturing industry are analyzed in detail,among which the indirect impact paths include the intermediary impact paths of technological innovation,FDI and industrial structure upgrading.Finally,using the panel data of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei from 2008 to2018,this paper makes an empirical study on the specific impact of environmental regulation on the transformation and upgrading of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei manufacturing industry.The empirical results show that environmental regulation can not only directly promote the transformation and upgrading of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei manufacturing industry,but also positively affect the transformation and upgrading of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei manufacturing industry through technological innovation,FDI and industrial structure upgrading.Based on this,this paper puts forward the differential use of regulatory tools and the differential treatment of manufacturing industries;Enrich the regulatory tools and improve the regulatory system;Strengthen independent innovation and introduce outstanding talents;Promote green development and advocate green consumption;Regional coordinated development,coordinated development of manufacturing services and other countermeasures and suggestions to promote the transformation and upgrading of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei manufacturing industry. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Manufacturing Industy Transformation and Upgrading, Environmental Regulation, Technological Innovation, FDI, Industrial Structure Upgrading | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
