At present,China’s economy is in an important period of transformation and development. In the past, the economic development model which excessively relies on high pollution, high energy consumption and high consumption has been increasingly constrained by environmental resources. As the economy enters a period of profound adjustment,to change the pattern of overcapacity, irrational industrial distribution and great pressure on resources and environment,it is necessary to break away from traditional dependence on high and new technology, green and environmental protection industries and human resource reserves, attach importance to innovation-driven development and take the road of green development. To actively implement the concept of green development and the strategy of innovation-driven development is an important task for both enterprises and the market.Green innovation development is a benign combination of "green orientation" and "innovation-driven",and also an effective means for enterprises to break through resource and environmental constraints and realize green transformation development. Therefore,in recent years, theoretical research and practical exploration on corporate green innovation performance have received extensive attention.Based on resource-based theory, internal control theory, new institutionalism theory and sustainable development theory, combined with previous research results in the field of green innovation, this paper selects fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis method(fs QCA)based on set and configuration thinking, and takes 88 new energy enterprises in the new energy concept sector as research samples.Five factors, namely R&D investment,ESG performance, internal control quality, government subsidies and investor attention, are identified as antecedent conditions. The influence mechanism of internal and external factors on green innovation performance of new energy enterprises is discussed, and the realization path of green innovation performance is analyzed in detail. As a supplement, this paper also makes a retrospective analysis of the green innovation practices of sample enterprises, and further demonstrates the research conclusions of this paper. It is found that the four paths for new energy enterprises to achieve high green innovation performance can be summarized into three types: attention-driven,capital-driven and conscious-driven,while the four paths for non-high green innovation performance can be further divided into idea-lack of capital, inefficient management and weak internal control, and the configuration paths corresponding to the two performance levels have certain asymmetry. The results of this paper show that R&D investment, mainly R&D investment and government subsidies, plays an important role in driving enterprise green innovation, and the quality and effectiveness of enterprise management is an important guarantee for the management system to guide technology R&D and green innovation. The research conclusion of this paper reveals the specific mechanism of the "idea-management-input" perspective of the green innovation practice of new energy enterprises, and presents the green innovation performance realization path composed of multi-factors.This suggests that new energy enterprises should make full use of their own conditions and environmental advantages, attach importance to the guidance of green ideas and institutional management on technological innovation, rationally utilize the incentive effect of government subsidy policies and external stakeholder behaviors on innovation activities, accelerate the transformation of technological research and development and innovation achievements, and realize the green sustainable development driven by innovation.
