| Vulnerability is often associated with risks and hazards, and is an important concept used in disaster management research. In the context of urbanization and climate change, assessing regional vulnerability and identifying vulnerable groups is an important part of disaster prevention and mitigation. This research focuses on the residents of urban villages in the Hongshan District of Wuhan City, constructs the social vulnerability evaluation index system of natural disasters according to the“exposure-sensitivity-adaptive capacity” framework from Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change(IPCC),and uses the questionnaire survey method to obtain the data.On the basis of determining the index weights by principal component analysis(PCA),the social vulnerability of residents is evaluated by the weighted comprehensive evaluation method, and explore the influencing factors and differences of residents’ vulnerability, which is helpful to improve the ability of residents to prevent and reduce disaster. The main research results of this paper are as follows:(1)The distribution of social vulnerability of urban village residents in Hongshan District is uneven, showing the characteristics of "more in the middle, less at both ends",and the structural difference is significant.(2)According to K-Means cluster analysis, the social vulnerability of residents was divided into three categories: high, middle and low.Through the construction of ternary ordered logistic regression analysis,it was found that the age, household registration type and income of residents had a significant impact on the level of vulnerability.Although gender, hometown location and family size did not pass the significance test, the analysis showed that the overall average vulnerability of women was higher than that of men.The average level of vulnerability of migrants is higher than that of city residents.(3)From three dimensions of "exposivity, sensitivity and adaptability",the difference of residents’ vulnerability is analyzed. It is found that with the increase of age, individuals’ ability to adapt to external risks decreases. However,in terms of sensitivity, the results show that the young people in some urban villages are at a relatively high level. The vulnerability of rural residents is higher than that of urban residents, and rural residents have higher sensitivity and lower adaptability,so they are more vulnerable to disasters and risks. In addition, the overall social vulnerability of women is slightly higher than that of men,and the difference between the sexes is not obvious from the three aspects of exposure, sensitivity and adaptability.Compared with city residents, migrants are generally more sensitive due to their tenants and debts. The increase of income level has a positive impact on reducing the social vulnerability of residents, and policy makers can further improve the level of social governance according to this feature. |
