The issue of ecological environment has always been of great concern to people. In recent years,a symposium on ecological protection and high-quality development in the Yellow River Basin has been held in Zhengzhou,at the meeting, the general secretary delivered an important speech.A major deployment has been made to strengthen the governance and protection of the Yellow River and promote high-quality development of the Yellow River Basin. The 20 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China also pointed out that respecting, conforming to,and protecting nature are inherent requirements for comprehensively building a modern socialist country.China is a large agricultural country, and the countryside is an important "position" in the construction of ecological civilization, and also a weak link in the construction of ecological civilization. In recent years, with the rapid development of rural economy,a series of serious rural environmental pollution problems have also followed, among which the water pollution problem closely related to the daily production and life of villagers can not be ignored. The control of rural water pollution affects the construction of socialism with Chinese characteristics. It is a complex project that requires the joint efforts of the government and all sectors of society. As the direct stakeholders of the rural environment, villagers’ participation in the process of rural water pollution control will directly affect the results of rural water pollution control.Accordingly, this document is from the point of view of the villagers themselves, focuses on the participation of villagers in the process of rural water pollution control in Wuzhi County of the Yellow River basin and the influencing factors, collects data and information through field research and questionnaires, and takes the public goods theory, public participation theory and rural governance theory as the basis,Through the study of relevant knowledge and the sorting out of relevant literature,we can conclude the factors that may affect the villagers’ participation. Before the empirical research, the collected sample data is screened and sorted out,and then the empirical research is carried out from the dimensions of individual characteristics, subjective cognition, institutional factors and external environment.Establish a multiple linear regression model, conduct empirical research through relevant measurement software, and finally draw the conclusion.Based on the conclusion, propose targeted countermeasures and suggestions.Through research, the following conclusions can be drawn: some factors in individual characteristics will affect the participation of villagers, such as the level of education of villagers, which will have a significant positive impact on their participation;Subjective cognition, institutional factors, and external environment also have a significant positive impact on their participation.Based on the results of empirical analysis, corresponding countermeasures and suggestions are mainly proposed from the following aspects: firstly,to improve the comprehensive quality of villagers and their awareness of participating in water pollution control; The second is to improve the village collective water pollution management system, strengthen information disclosure, and expand participation channels;Thirdly, establish and improve supporting incentive measures to encourage villagers to participate in rural water pollution control; The fourth is to improve the hardware facilities of rural environment;Fifth, create a good social atmosphere.
