| Embroidery has undergone many innovations throughout its history,and new ideas,creativity and techniques have emerged in different times and regions,resulting in diverse styles,forms,designs and characteristics.The modern art of embroidery is a crossover between other art disciplines,which,based on traditional Chinese embroidery techniques,has absorbed the stylistic features of painting and the aesthetic concepts of contemporary art,revealing a new embroidery style on the art stage.The development of embroidery continues to break through barriers and boundaries,no longer confined within traditional techniques,but combined with the lyricism and emotion of painting,injecting new vitality into contemporary art with its unique artistic language and visual effects.In this paper,the concept of "painterly" as the starting point,through literature research,example analysis,comparative analysis and other methods,to demonstrate the relationship between contemporary embroidery language and painterly language,explain the concept definition and significance of "painterly" embroidery language.Using literature collection,work analysis and creative practice,the study explores the forms and methods of expression of the ’pictorial’ embroidery language in fiber art in terms of stitch language,line language and composition language.It explores in depth its stylistic,texture and spiritual and emotional characteristics.Finally,an analysis of "pictorial" embroidery language in the author’s graduation work is presented,reflecting on the choice and use of subject matter,materials and techniques.This paper aims to explore new ways and methods of innovation and development of embroidery language in the context of contemporary art through a multi-faceted and multi-dimensional overview of the ’pictorial’ embroidery language. |
