| To rescue and record the traditional handicraft of Intangible Cultural Heritage(ICH)ramie fabric,revitalize its modern value,and promote the renaissance of the ramie fabric industry.At present,the modern transformation of ICH guided by "upholding tradition and innovation" has become a hot topic,but the innovative design of ramie fabric in public furniture still remains in its infancy.The author has visited more than ten main ramie fabric production areas in Sichuan,Chongqing,Hunan,and Jiangxi,searched through ancient and modern Chinese and foreign literature,focusing on the value exploration of ramie fabric.The author also referred to foreign ICH protection strategies,combined with furniture design discipline research methods,conducted user research,and carried out modification experiments targeting pain points.The aim is to increase the value attributes of ramie fabric and empower furniture design in public cultural spaces.The main research achievements are as follows:(1)Extracting the cultural value of ramie fabric-systematically recording and analyzing the entire process of Chinese ramie fabric weaving techniques.The author filmed and recorded the entire process of traditional ramie fabric weaving techniques,sorted out ancient and modern techniques,and differentiated between the skills of various production areas,showcasing the cultural value of ramie fabric.(2)Extracting the economic value of ramie fabric-conducting a comprehensive investigation of the ramie fabric industry’s current status and proposing countermeasure suggestions.Based on the research results,several countermeasures and suggestions were formed,including the cultivation and protection of inheritors,the promotion and branding of ramie fabric enterprises,and the establishment of spontaneous non-governmental organizations;providing practical evidence for the protection and inheritance of ramie fabric as an intangible cultural heritage,and clarifying its economic value.(3)Extracting the social value of ramie fabric-comparing and demonstrating the history and current status of ramie fabric in China and Japan.Using field investigation methods,case studies,interviews,and literature analysis,a comprehensive comparison of Chinese and Japanese ramie fabric weaving techniques was made;historical and cultural materials were examined and analyzed,and the connections between Chinese and Japanese ramie fabric weaving techniques were sorted out from four aspects: textile relics,skill exchanges,loom dissemination,and terminology dissemination,restoring the social value of ramie fabric.(4)Refining user requirements for ramie fabric public furniture.Through unstructured field research and structured questionnaire surveys,user behavior requirements were used as a starting point,and the KANO model was employed as a tool for object requirement classification,summarizing the user requirement analysis table.(6)Exploring the optimal concentration range for the alkali modification experiment of ramie fabric.Considering the application scenarios of ramie fabric on public furniture,to improve the wear resistance and roughness of ramie fabric materials,the Martindale test method and subjective evaluation experiments were adopted.Combining both types of experiments,the optimal concentration range for alkali treatment of ramie fabric was determined to be 180-200 g/L.(7)Proposing ramie fabric furniture design concepts and elements,with comprehensive user needs as a reference.From a product dimension perspective,through design deduction,two sets of ramie fabric furniture for public space scenarios were created. |
