The expansion of the city and the brilliant development of the construction industry have led to the continuous increase in the amount of construction waste, which has the characteristics of great environmental impact and high recycling rate.On the one hand, with the deterioration of the environment and the exhaustion of resources, the recycling treatment of construction waste has become an inevitable trend. On the other hand, global warming and other negative environmental effects threaten the survival of human beings and all living things on earth.Exploring ways to save energy and reduce emissions is conducive to promoting sustainable development of society. The recycling of construction waste has the double benefits of reducing carbon emission and saving resources, and the benefit of carbon emission reduction is an important part of environmental benefits. It is of great significance to explore the carbon emission reduction potential and comprehensive environmental benefits of the recycling of construction waste and find ways to improve the carbon emission reduction benefits and environmental benefits of the recycling of construction waste.Based on this, the following work is carried out in this paper.Firstly, through data collection and literature research, this paper sorted out the research status quo and related concepts and theories of construction waste recycling and construction carbon emission at home and abroad. On this basis, the carbon emission and environmental benefits under different construction waste treatment scenarios were analyzed. In addition, life cycle assessment theory(LCA)and life-cycle environment cost assessment method(LCEC)were used to establish assessment models of carbon emission reduction benefits and comprehensive environmental benefits of construction waste reclamation.Taking the demolition and renovation project of Jinhua Middle School in Chengdu as an example, data were collected by means of survey, literature review, etc. This paper uses the evaluation model to analyze and calculate the carbon emission reduction benefits and comprehensive environmental benefits of the construction waste recycling of the case project, and on this basis to estimate the environmental benefits of Chengdu construction waste recycling, and finally analyzes and summarizes the relevant suggestions to promote the development of energy conservation and emission reduction and circular economy. The results show that the recycling treatment of construction waste has obvious carbon emission reduction benefits, and each ton of construction waste can reduce carbon emissions by about 7.04kg.Among them, energy consumption has a greater impact on the benefit of carbon emission reduction, accounting for more than 79%,which mainly comes from the diesel consumption in the process of transportation. The shorter the distance between the resource enterprise and the construction site, the more significant the benefit of carbon emission reduction. At the same time, other environmental impacts of the project are also evaluated and calculated. The results show that the recycling treatment of construction waste can reduce diesel consumption by about 0.32kg/t,reduce electricity by3.91k W·h/t,reduce land resources by 0.17m~2and mineral resources by 0.88t per ton,and the impact of environmental pollution is also reduced. The research results of this paper can provide some method support and data reference for evaluating the carbon emission reduction benefits and environmental benefits of construction waste recycling, and help quantify the contribution of energy conservation and emission reduction of construction waste recycling and explore the optimization ways and development direction. The suggestions proposed based on the case analysis also have certain reference significance for the management and policy formulation of the government and enterprises.
