Superhydrophobic surfaces which possess unique wettability have a promising future in the fields of anti-fouling,anti-icing and oil spill treatment.However,complicated preparation procedures and high costs hinder their application.Therefore,it is essential to develop an economical and simple method to prepare superhydrophobic coatings.Herein,we prepared superhydrophobic coatings with TiO2 as the main filler through drop coating and impregnation.The surface morphology,chemical components and environmental stability of the coating were investigated.The results were as follows:Firstly,the MPS composite resin was prepared by solution polymerization.Then TiO2and SiO2 nanoparticles were dispersed into it to construct microscopic morphology and enhance mechanical stability.Finally,a TiO2/SiO2/MPS superhydrophobic coating with a WCA of 160.3°was obtained.The coating could be employed on various substrates without regard to its original composition and wettability.The coating retained its superhydrophobicity after 3 abrasion cycles and treatment at 200°C.Furthermore,the coating demonstrated excellent anti-dirt and self-cleaning properties which have potential applications for anti-dirt,load-bearing and oil-water separation.The TiO2/AP@DTMS superhydrophobic coating with a WCA of 155.8°was prepared by combining the inorganic phosphate-based adhesive AP and TiO2,following hydrophobic modification by DTMS.The coating possessed outstanding static and dynamic superhydrophobicity and was repellent to numerous organic solvents.Additionally,the coating was protected against 11 mechanical abrasions and exposured to 200°C.It also exhibited excellent stain resistance and self-cleaning properties which allow it to resist diverse water-soluble soiling.The superhydrophobic stainless steel mesh boats prepared using this coating could easily float on water and possessed load carrying capacity.The coating could also be employed in the separation of oil-water mixtures and emulsions,which holds great promise in areas of offshore oil spill treatment.
