Study On Comprehensive Performance Evaluation Of Yueyang Forest Paper Considering Carbon Sequestration Effect

In response to global warming,China has formulated a series of measures to continuously develop low-carbon economy.As the most economical and practical means recognized by the international community,forestry carbon sequestration has attracted wide attention in recent years.Forestry carbon sequestration is an important way to realize the value compensation of forest ecological benefit through market mechanism and provides a new investment and financing channel for forestry development.One of the eight energy-intensive sectors that emits carbon is the paper industry.Following the state’s intended "carbon neutrality and carbon peak" strategic objective,it faces severe challenges.The early start of the construction of forestry carbon sinks and the results generated after the construction will enable enterprises to calmly face the challenges and provide a solid foundation for sustainable development of enterprises.As a crucial strategy for encouraging businesses to raise their management standards,the comprehensive performance of the company needs to be evaluated more comprehensively to better adapt to the strategic needs of the country.Therefore,this paper takes Yueyang Forest Paper,a heavily polluting enterprise,as the research object to design a comprehensive performance evaluation system considering carbon sink effect.Based on the collection and arrangement of relevant literature,this paper deepens the knowledge and interpretation of the comprehensive performance evaluation of carbon sink effect through the elaboration of the concepts of comprehensive performance,comprehensive performance evaluation and forestry carbon sink effect.Under the guidance of information asymmetry theory,stakeholder theory,triple bottom line theory,sustainable development theory and other related theories,it provides theoretical reference for the smooth development of this paper.Based on the actual operation and management of the paper company Yueyang Forest &Paper,and combined with the development of the paper industry and the company’s forestry carbon sink project and carbon sink trading,a targeted comprehensive enterprise performance evaluation system is constructed.The system is divided into three aspects,namely financial performance,management performance and carbon sink performance.By selecting relevant indicators and applying hierarchical analysis to determine the weights,the company’s comprehensive performance is evaluated,so as to identify the problems of the company and put forward feasible suggestions.The study results show that Yueyang Forest & Paper has a good financial performance score,a medium management performance score,and a low carbon sink performance score.Accordingly,recommendations are made to enhance its operating capacity,strengthen its risk control capacity,and fully disclose carbon sink information.Since there are few studies on the comprehensive performance of enterprises considering the carbon sink effect,this paper hopes that the comprehensive performance evaluation study of Yueyang Forest & Paper considering the carbon sink effect will improve the company’s comprehensive strength and provide reference for its sustainable development.At the same time,it is also hoped that other paper industries can establish a carbon sink performance evaluation system as soon as possible and jointly contribute to the national low-carbon development.
