Due to its continuous change of the engine speed and torque,the good adaptability for external load,reducing shocks and torsion vibration of the transmission system,improving service life of the transmission system and so on,the torque converter is widely used in kinds of construction machinery.However,the transmission efficiency of torque converter is rapidly reduced in a high-speed ratio.The latch-on torque converter can effectively resolve this problem,but the difference of the rotational speed and the torque between the turbine and pump wheel at the latching will bring latch impact,and the difference of the output torque for the torque converter before and after the latching will bring the torque disturbance to the transmission system,so it is very important to select an appropriate latching point.In addition,the length of the lockout time also has a huge impact on the latching process.Therefore,this paper conducts research on the latching regularity for high-powered bulldozer.The main contents are as follows:Firstly,it studied the match input and output characteristics of the engine and torque converter,the results showed that is reasonable.Secondly,it studied the selection method of latching point for torque converter.By calculating and analyzing of all kinds of latching point selection methods,finally,according to the match efficiency of the various methods,the difference of the rotational speed and the torque between the turbine and pump wheel at the latching,the difference of the output torque for the torque converter before and after the latching,the best latching point was determined.At last,it studied the latching process of the torque converter by building the mathematical model of the latching process and researching the oil-filled characteristics to determine the best oil-filled time,then conducting the simulation analysis of the latching process based on Matlab/Simulink.The results showed that the oil-filled time is reasonable.
