Study On The Historical Context Of Traditional Merchant Courtyard In Linqing Ancient City

The Zhuangjia Merchant’s Courtyard condenses the rich cultural elements of the ancient city of Zhongzhou in Linqing.The compound has a reasonable layout,diverse shapes,a fusion of northern and southern architectural styles,and exquisite carvings of detailed components.It can be regarded as a precious cultural heritage.Nowadays,the Zhuangjia Courtyard is buried by the high-rise buildings in modern society.In addition,due to its long-term decline and poor protection,the cultural value has been lost.Therefore,it should be protected and utilized to adapt to the times and achieve regeneration.The focus of this study is to excavate and continue the explicit and implicit contextual value of the Zhuangjia Courtyard,thereby revitalizing the original space vitality.First of all,the source of the topic selection is proposed,which leads to the importance of context inheritance for the protection and utilization of merchants’ courtyards.Based on the concept of contextual inheritance,it sorts out and summarizes relevant theories and practices at home and abroad,and draws inspiration from conceptual points and design methods.Secondly,taking the Zhuangjia Courtyard as the research object,after many on-the-spot investigations,from the historical evolution of the hidden context,the social culture and the compound shape and detailed components of the explicit context,etc.,the Zhuangjia Courtyard itself is summarized.The characteristics of the contextual elements are extracted to extract the contextual value.Thirdly,in view of the problems faced by the current situation of the compound,it proposes regeneration strategies and methods from the perspective of contextual inheritance.Finally,in order to continue the unique regional culture,make the old and the new coexist,and create a cultural and commercial compound that can adapt to the needs of the times,meet the living,commercial and entertainment atmosphere of modern people,and can inherit the historical context.This paper systematically explores the contextual characteristics and inheritance methods of the Merchant Courtyard,and proposes some ideas of regeneration design.It is hoped that the above theoretical content and design practice can provide reference and help for the protection and regeneration of other compounds.
