| After years of development in China’s automobile industry,joint ventures and domestic brands have made enormous progress in the domestic market where a mounting number of automobile products have been available and the quality has increasingly become one of the significant factors for consumers to choose to purchase cars.Consequently,major automobile manufacturing enterprises have taken improving product quality as one of the strategic cores of their business operations,striving to take the lead in the fierce market competition.F company is an entire vehicle manufacturer whose quality problems in the manufacturing process frequently trigger consumer complaints and result in a lack of competitiveness.This paper presents how to improve the manufacturing quality of F company’s automobile and further optimize the competitiveness of its products.First of all,by studying the current situation of automobile manufacturing quality of F company,it is found that the low first pass yield of vehicle manufacturing is a critical issue faced by F company under TQM principles,which is the research object of this paper.Moreover,it systematically analyzes the reasons for the low one-time pass rate and summarizes the problems existing in the improvement of the vehicle quality of F company,such as the lack of overall improvement strategy,the difficulty of team cooperation,and the insufficiency of systematical and scientific quality improvement tools.Ultimately,after study and comparison,the Six Sigma Management DMAIC quality improvement method is adopted for it can effectively improve the vehicle manufacturing quality and reduce the cost of quality loss.For instance,problems of B pillar interference with sheet metal and the poor cooperation between the hood and the fender,which affect the first pass yield of the entire vehicle manufacturing of F company,can be solved by using Six Sigma Management(DMAIC)to carry out quality improvement practice.Additionally,the critical factors are confirmed and improvement measures are proposed and implemented through apply of Pareto’s law,GR & R,the fishbone diagram,the hypothesis test,regression analysis,DOE,and other DMAIC quality tools.The quality improvement practice results indicate that among KPOV affecting the first pass rate,the B pillar interference CPK increases from 0.79 to 1.48,the cooperation between the hood and the fender CPK from0.4 to 1.46,and the first pass yield of the entire vehicle from 64.9% to 82.3%.,which effectively improve the product quality of F company and enhance its competitiveness. |
