At present,rubber asphalt is more and more widely used in paving roads.There are different problems in different regions when using rubber asphalt.As a resource-based city in north China,Pingdingshan City has many heavy vehicles.Under the condition of high temperature in summer,rubber asphalt pavement is easy to form ruts and other pavement diseases in varying degrees.In order to study the fabrication of rubber asphalt and the optimal amount of rubber powder of the rubber asphalt mixture in Pingdingshan area,the following aspects were studied:(1)Different fabrication methods of rubber power were analyzed and the most suitable fabrication method was selected.(2)The fabrication methods of rubber asphalt mixture were analyzed and the most appropriate fabrication method was selected.(3)The mechanism of rubber asphalt and the role of rubber powder in the change of rubber asphalt properties were studied.(4)The effects of different rubber powder content on the main properties of rubber asphalt were analyzed.(5)The performance of rubber asphalt mixture with the optimal rubber powder content was tested and analyzed.(6)In Pingdingshan area,the application of rubber asphalt mixture with the optimal rubber powder content in highway engineering projects was evaluated.The results showed as follow:(1)Adding rubber powder into the asphalt,the rubber powder could react with the base asphalt,and some rubber powder was dissolved in the asphalt to change the composition of the asphalt and improved the service performance of the asphalt.(2)With the increase of rubber powder content,the main performance indexes of rubber asphalt would change:the penetration decreased gradually;The softening point temperature and elastic recovery value increased gradually at first,and then remained basically unchanged;The viscosity increased gradually;The ductility increased gradually,but the variation was small;The adhesion property increased.(3)When the rubber powder content was 25%(weight percentage),the penetration of rubber asphalt was 5.91 mm,the viscosity was 2.615 Pa·s,the ductility was 15.9 cm,the softening point was 66.2 ~oC,the elastic recovery was 91.3%,the adhesion was 71.5 N,and the segregation value was 5.3 ~oC.The comprehensive performance index was excellent,which was suitable for pavement engineering construction.(4)The rubber asphalt mixture,with the rubber powder content was 25%in the pavement of Rubao-Liuzhuang(S241)south line in Pingdingshan,had better water damage resistance,high-temperature stability and low-temperature crack resistance.Compared with the traditional asphalt mixture,it had greatly improved the performance of asphalt pavement,which could effectively improve the service performance of asphalt pavement and had popularization significance in other places of Pingdingshan.
