With the rapid development of automobile industry, the "black pollution" caused by accumulation of waste tires has become a worldwide environmental problem. Using the crumb rubber in road engineering, not only solve environmental problem, but also improve the pavement performance. However, complex construction technology restricts its further application. Therefore, it is very crucial to figure out a proper way to improve this construction technology. Based on that, in order to improve its pavement performance and workability, this paper studied on pavement performance of adding the TOR (VESTENAMER(?)) to the asphalt rubber mixture.In this paper, conventional test, Brookfield viscosity test, DSR are used to evaluate the binder performance of combination of different types of asphalt rubber and study on the performance of the asphalt rubber with TOR, the results indicate that when 20 mesh rubber powder is mixed with 20% of the asphalt, asphalt rubber has the best overall performance, and the mixture of TOR not only improves the rubber modified asphalt technology, but also improves the performance of asphalt rubber.We perform the indoor comparative tests for 8 different types of rubber asphalt mixture. According to the results,rubber asphalt is more suitable for gap-graded; the mixture through the dry process has the better high temperature performance; the mixture through the wet process has a good resistance to water damage and low temperature resistance craking; the different types of asphalt rubber with TOR could improve the performance of mixture respectively, and make the performance of rubber asphalt mixture through dry process much closed to wet process, which significantly simplifies the process of asphalt rubber.The paper used scanning electron microscopy, DSC and infrared absorption spectrum analysis to reaserch the modification mechanism of asphalt rubber with TOR. The results indicate that TOR can increase a chemical reaction between rubber powder and asphalt, improve the compatibility of the asphalt and rubber powder, so that asphalt rubber has better temperature susceptibility. Finally, this paper analyzes the economic evaluation of asphalt rubber, and the construction technology.
