In the face of severe climate problems and low carbon energy saving as the long-term development goal,the necessity of studying the climate adaptive variable building skin becomes more and more prominent.Compared with the traditional skin,the variable skin can change its form to adapt to the ever-changing building performance requirements and the changeable external climate.Its intelligent,dynamic,adaptive and other characteristics provide a new idea for the design of building skin,and has a broad application and development space.This paper focuses on the study of the climate-adaptable building skin in response to daylight.The building skin can respond to the change of the sun position,filter daylight,adjust the solar thermal radiation into the room,improve the utilization of solar energy resources,improve the quality of indoor light environment and other functions.Firstly,this paper summarizes and analyzes the relevant research status at home and abroad,and uses Cite Space software to analyze the visualization of foreign literature.Then,combined with current research theories and practical cases,the regulation methods of climate-adaptable building skin in response to daylight were studied from four aspects: function type,control system,movement mode and adaptive material.Then,a performance-driven approach to climate adaptable building skin design in response to daylight is presented.The specific steps are as follows: develop change strategy;Modeling of variable building skin;Select the simulation tool and performance evaluation index to simulate the performance;The simulation results are analyzed to make decisions,and the building skin that responds to real-time daylight changes is finally obtained.This paper summarizes the strategy of climate adaptive building skin design in response to daylight.It is studied from five aspects: climate adaptability strategy,prototype pattern design strategy,material selection strategy,structure level design strategy and actuator selection strategy.In the chapter of design practice,the above theories and design strategies are applied to the transformation of the outer surface of an office building.On the exterior of the existing building skin,a climate-adaptable building skin is designed that can respond to daylight in real time.The design content includes response mode,appearance,detailed structure,etc.The office building was investigated and a typical office space model was established,response strategies were developed,and the morning,middle and evening hours of typical meteorological days were selected for simulation.Through the simulation analysis,the optimal skin shape at each time was obtained.The improvement of indoor light environment by variable skin is simulated and analyzed.Compared with the fixed skin,the variable skin increased the standard illumination area rate by 16.6%-46.5%,and the glare rate was effectively reduced by6%-43%.
