| The literati symposium is an activity type organized by the ancient elites with the main forms of " piano 、chess 、calligraphy and painting ","tea tasting",etc.The literati symposium is an important garden residence activity in traditional Chinese gardens,and it is also a social communication method for literati to build social relations and find identity.The literati symposium painting is a type of painting in traditional Chinese painting that takes literati gathering activities as the main object of expression.The literati symposium painting mostly take the garden space as the background environment,vividly reproducing the garden living scenes of the ancient literati.The image contains a wealth of garden graphic information,which can be regarded as a visual medium and historical basis for exploring the characteristics of ancient people’s garden activity space and atmosphere creation.This paper selects the ancient literati symposium paintings with the garden environment as the image background as the research object,and uses the research method of iconology to analyze various image elements in the symposium painting.Explore the garden material culture and the construction characteristics of the garden activity space shown in the literati symposium paintings,and analyze the garden creation ideas and garden space relationships contained in the literati symposium paintings of all dynasties.The garden-related research on the symposium paintings of literati in the past dynasties is conducive to clarifying the relationship between garden activities and garden space,and has important theoretical supplementary significance for in-depth understanding of Chinese traditional garden culture.This paper studies the following points.First,it discusses the research background,purpose,significance and related research review of this paper.Second,taking time as the axis,combined with the historical background of each dynasty and the overall characteristics of symposium paintings,traced the historical origin of literati symposium paintings in different periods of the past,and sorted out the development trend and era characteristics of symposium paintings in the past dynasties.Third,select five typical symposium paintings to interpret and analyze the basic information and image content of the images.Fourth,focus on the image elements such as garden figures,garden activities,the garden artifacts and garden environment in the literati symposium paintings,and explore their spatial expression and aesthetic tendencies in the images.Fifth,combined with the above-mentioned detailed interpretation of the image elements of the symposium paintings,this paper sorts out the space places and environmental characteristics of the literati symposium activities from a macro perspective,and summarizes the spatial organization relationship and spatial construction characteristics of the literati symposium activities in the images.And based on this,the interaction mechanism of people,artifacts and space contained in the literati symposium paintings is discussed.Sixthly,through the interpretation and analysis of the image elements and space in the literati symposium paintings of past dynasties,it summarizes the enlightenment effect of the garden space relationship in the symposium paintings to the contemporary.The results of the study are as follows: The literati symposium paintings originated from the records of the real elegant gathering activities,and gradually became a common type of painting,and left a large number of paintings in the Ming and Qing Dynasties.The elegant collections of literati of all dynasties can be divided into three categories according to the purpose of creation:"documentary scene reproduction","commemorative artistic re-creation" and " literati’s symposium of mountains and forests ".In terms of activity content,the literati symposium paintings mainly express garden activities such as" literary activity "," tasting tea" "," banquet entertainment "," antique appreciation "etc.Garden utensils and environmental elements show similar aesthetic tendencies in the images of literati symposium paintings,with dual functions of space and symbol,and form typical and stylized graphic symbols.In the literati symposium paintings of all dynasties,three types of environments,namely "garden courtyard"," villa garden"and "natural scenery",are used as the space for symposium activities.And with similar spatial organization relationship,three garden space paradigms,namely "single concentration type","complex tour type" and "lyrical narrative type" are formed in the image.The inter-coupling mechanism of "people","objects" and "space" in the images embodies the garden relationship contained in the literati symposium paintings. |
