Research On The Driving Factors,Path And Performance Of HUANENG Power International Inc Green Transformation

Since the 18th CPC National Congress,ecological civilization construction has been included in the overall layout of the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics.During this period,the goal of"double carbon" was put forward until the report of the 20th CPC National Congress,which further accelerated the planning and construction of a new energy system,accelerated the green transformation of the development mode,and promoted the harmonious coexistence between man and nature.It not only shows China’s determination to environmental protection and green economic development,but also shows the urgent need for the green and low-carbon transformation of the traditional energy industry.In this context,as an important basic industry of the national economy,electric power enterprises need to accelerate the green transformation to adapt to the development requirements of the new era.In this thesis research,HUANENG Power International Inc,which has the largest installed thermal power capacity and the highest operating income among listed enterprises in the power industry,is selected as the case study,Through case analysis and literature analysis,externality theory,economic man hypothesis theory and sustainable development theory are taken as the theoretical basis,and combined with HUANENG Power International Inc’s corporate annual report,social responsibility report,environmental,social and corporate governance report(ESG report),the driving factors,paths and performance of HUANENG Power International Inc’s green transformation are studied and analyzed.The study found that HUANENG Power International Inc,influenced by factors at the government level and enterprise level,carried out green transformation through three paths:improving green management system,developing clean energy and increasing technological innovation.Through green transformation,in terms of financial performance,the increase in the scale of clean energy power generation brings profit space to the enterprise.Meanwhile,the capital investment of green transformation also causes financial pressure to HUANENG Power International Inc.In terms of environmental performance,HUANENG Power International Inc has improved its technological innovation ability by increasing R&D investment,and improved its performance of coal consumption for power supply and air pollutant emission.In terms of social performance,the company has demonstrated a strong sense of social responsibility and responsibility.Its outstanding performance in environmental responsibility has also won the company a good social reputation and social recognition.Through the analysis of HUANENG Power International Inc,in order to promote the power enterprises to better carry out green transformation,this paper puts forward the following suggestions:at the micro-enterprise level,the most important thing is to adhere to scientific and technological innovation,strengthen cost management,and strengthen the disclosure of environmental information;At the macro policy level,the first is that the government actively promotes electricity substitution,and the second is to provide financial support through government subsidies and tax incentives,combining micro enterprises and macro policies to help power enterprises better green transformation.
