In recent years, with the rapid increase of foreign freight transportation in our country, the number of inland terminals that can wharf large and super large ships is gradually insufficient, resulting in the need for the construction of the terminal to be developed in the sea area. Before that, researchers at home and abroad have done a lot of analysis and research on mooring ships in inland wharfs, but there are few studies on mooring ships in open wharfs in open seas.Because the construction of the open port is in the early stage, its infrastructure could be better. In particular, the lack of breakwater will lead to the direct action of complex wind, wave and current loads on the mooring ships in the wharf, which will bring some hidden dangers to the mooring ships’ stability and the mooring system’s safety. This paper takes an ore carrier with a displacement of 200,000 tons as the research object, and uses AQWA and ANSYS Workbench software to conduct finite element simulation analysis. The hydrodynamic performance of a single ship, the hydrodynamic performance of a ship coupled with a wharf, the time-domain motion response of a ship under different wind, wave and current load coupling conditions and the dynamic response of a ship under free, mooring and wind, wave and current load coupling conditions are studied. The main research contents are as follows:Firstly, the hydrodynamic performance of a single ship is analyzed under seven different wave angles, five different water depths and three different ship draft conditions. The ship’s hydrodynamic performance at different angles, water depth and draft is discussed by comparing the ship’s RAO,added mass and radiation-damping parameters with the incident wave frequency.Secondly, the ship’s hydrodynamic performance under the coupling interference between the wharf and ship is analyzed and compared with that without the wharf, and the influence law of the wharf on the ship’s hydrodynamic performance is discussed. And the hydrodynamic performance of a ship at four different distances between the ship and the wharf is studied.Thirdly, the time-domain motion response of mooring ships under different coupling conditions of wind, wave and current loads in conventional sea conditions is studied.Under different incidence angles of wind, wave and current loads, the influence of wind wave and current coupling loads on mooring ships in open wharves and the safety of mooring systems are discussed by comparing the variation laws of the maximum amount of motion, the maximum amount of mooring cable tension and the maximum amount of anti-collision fender reaction of mooring ships in six degrees of freedom directions with different periods, wave height, wind velocity and current velocity. Finally,ANSYS Workbench platform was used to conduct a dynamic analysis of the ship under the coupling effect of wind, wave and current load at a certain instantaneous moment. The response distribution law of displacement, velocity and acceleration of the mooring ship was compared and analyzed. In addition, the intrinsic characteristics of the ship in free and mooring are compared and analyzed, and the influence of mooring lines on the intrinsic characteristics is discussed.
