Research On Architectural Form Design Methods Based On Stress

Stress,as an essential expression of structural " reason ",reflects the relationship between "numbers"inside the object,while the "image" of stress graph--like stress nephogram and stress lines--expresses the state of the structure.This paper takes stress as a start point,puts forward a new perspective of reading architectural form and deducing the Architectural form based on stress.Firstly,this paper interprets the natural form and traditional architectural form from the perspective of stress,explains that stress principle is the universal law followed by nature,and discusses the stress rationality of traditional architectural form and modern structural prototypes.By analyzing the application of the concept of stress and the operation of common forms in modern architectural design,the possibility of forming forms of the stress is demonstrated.With the help of parametric design software Grasshopper and structural calculation and analysis tool Karamba 3D,this paper presents the extraction process of stress graph and its formal characteristics are analyzed.Among them,the stress nephogram reflects the size of the internal force of the structure,reflects the rationality of the structure and has internal change law;The stress line reflects the material continuity,directivity,continuity and organicity in the structure.Architects can take the stress graph as the reference and basis of building material distribution and component arrangement in design.This paper respectively put forward the stress-based facade order construction and the interface texture design for two different architectural elements and surface systems.The construction strategies of facade order mainly include column section variation or columns,disorderly and orderly arrangement of vertical member bars,density reconstruction of orthogonal grids and fractal of oblique grids.The interface texture design strategy is to achieve different combinations of holes by changing the size and position,to obtain random order and gradual order,and to form a texture with virtual and solid intersections and orderly opening and closing.The stress-based facade order construction and the interface texture design methods can create facades with both structural logic and visual aesthetics.These methods transform structural knowledge into graphic consensus between architects and engineers,provides a new perspective for thinking about architectural form,and stimulates new possibilities of architectural form design.
