The urban rail transit(URT)is a significant transportation system in people’s daily life due to its convenience and high efficiency.To face the booming passenger volume in the URT network,some existing researches aim to improve the service quality of the entire URT network.The passenger travel process and the train running process,as the research core of these researches,has a close relationship to both the service level and the transportation efficiency of the URT system.However,these two factors have not been systematically described and developed in these studies.Focusing on providing a tool that can validate various global management researches of the URT network,we propose a development method of the URT network’s synchronized passenger and train traffic simulation model.According to the multi-agent simulation technology,the passenger batch agent is designed as the fundamental agent in the development method.The passenger batch agent is a novel aggregation method of passenger individuals,which can decrease the number of total agents in the simulation model to release the computation pressure.Based on the passenger agents,a three-level architecture,including one URT network agent,several URT line agents and numerous train agents,is designed to complete the comprehensive simulation of the passenger travel process and the train running process.Using the URT network in Chongqing,China,as the scenario,the numerical experiments show that the developed simulation model can accurately depict passenger travel processes and train running processes accurately and efficiently.Moreover,for application,using the simulation model,two passenger route choice models are validated and compared,and the simulation model also obtains the effects of reducing passenger waiting time by compressing train headways. |
