According to statistics from the National Cancer Registry Center, the number of new cases of malignant tumors and the number of deaths in my country have increased to varying degrees in recent years, and the demand for cancer diagnosis and treatment services undertaken by oncology departments in general hospitals has also continued to increase. In order to improve the level and quality of cancer diagnosis and treatment services,my country has successively promulgated the "Action Plan for Improving the Quality of Cancer Diagnosis and Treatment" and other guiding documents. In contrast, due to the particularity of the oncology department of general hospitals in terms of the scale of diagnosis and treatment space, the way of spatial organization, and the behavior and psychology of the people served, the current theoretical research results and related research results in the field of architecture are suitable for guiding the architectural design of oncology departments in general hospitals. There are relatively few design specifications and standards. To this end, this study carried out design research around the diagnosis and treatment space of oncology departments in general hospitals,in order to provide reference for related construction work. This study first sorts out the medical service content carried by the general hospital oncology department, and analyzes its role in my country’s medical and health service system.Secondly, through comparative analysis, this study summarizes the particularity of the oncology department in terms of medical links, service population, treatment space, and medical equipment;based on the particularity,it analyzes the four aspects related to the oncology department’s spatial layout, exclusive planning, healing environment, and security.According to the specific design requirements of the category, and based on this evaluation,a field survey was carried out on the design status of the oncology clinic space in general hospitals in Beijing.Through questionnaire survey,semi-structured interview, and behavioral analysis, this study conducted a survey on the current situation of oncology diagnosis and treatment space in 10 general hospitals in Beijing, and found that there are some problems in terms of space layout, exclusive planning, healing environment, and safety guarantee.Different degrees of incompatibility with requirements, and analyze the cause of the problem. Finally, starting from the perspective of problem solving, combined with the actual situation and targeted case analysis of existing excellent examples at home and abroad, this study systematically puts forward five design principles from the aspects of spatial layout, healing environment, exclusive planning, and security. And 27 design countermeasures, and apply them in engineering design practice projects, design verification and summary of their feasibility. In addition, the design of the diagnosis and treatment space of the oncology department of a general hospital is also closely related to factors such as the overall planning and construction method of the hospital area.It is hoped that more colleagues will pay attention to the above content in future related research,so as to more comprehensively discuss the design and construction of oncology diagnosis and treatment space in general hospitals, and contribute to the construction of specialties in general hospitals.
