With the continual advancement of the aviation industry,airplanes have become increasingly powerful in their performance.However,as a result,the operation of airplanes has grown more complex,and the skill requirements for pilots have become more stringent.Traditional attitude and thrust controls are insufficient for meeting the demands of modern airplanes,which gave rise to automatic flight control systems.The airplane automatic flight control system improves flight safety,simplifies operations,enhances flight efficiency and accuracy,and enables precise control of the airplane through computers for autonomous flight based on a preset flight plan.This reduces the likelihood of human error and increases flight precision and reliability.The airplane automatic flight control system is characterized by high reliability,precision,safety,and user-friendliness,prioritizing airplane safety while also considering flight efficiency and comfort.This paper uses the Cessna C172 airplane as a research subject,combining knowledge of aerodynamics and flight dynamics to model and obtain the basic motion equations for the airplane’s longitudinal and lateral-directional control via linearization and decoupling methods.In addition,automatic control systems for the airplane’s longitudinal,lateral-directional,and anti-skid brake are designed using classical control theory,and a simulation model is established based on the Matlab/Simulink.Data communication is implemented using the UDP protocol,and joint simulation with Prepar3 D is performed.The final results demonstrate that the designed automatic flight control system performs well and satisfies the basic requirements for flight quality,thereby confirming the system’s feasibility and applicability.
