Openness,Symbiosis,Experience:A Study Of Rooftop Space Design For Contemporary Urban Resort Hotels

The contemporary city resort hotel is a reflection of a city’s development potential and living values,and is the physical manifestation of people’s spiritual pursuit on the basis of satisfying their material needs.The contemporary city resort hotel differs from the traditional resort hotel in that it has both respect for history and consideration of contemporary culture,society and city.Therefore,contemporary urban resort hotels pay more attention to the improvement of the overall spatial value,and the roof space,as an important spatial element to enhance the spatial value of resort hotels,has not been fully explored and utilized,so it is important to explore the roof space of contemporary urban resort hotels to build more attractive resort hotels.The thesis takes the contemporary urban resort hotels as the research object and conducts research on their rooftop space.Firstly,it reads and analyzes the relevant theories and actual cases,and defines the concept of contemporary urban resort hotel rooftop space and analyzes its characteristics,types and design necessity.Secondly,the thesis combines the nature of the resort hotel itself and conducts an innovative exploration of its rooftop space.From the perspective of hotel positioning,the thesis breaks the closed and exclusive characteristics of traditional resort hotels and tries to open the public rooftop space of the resort hotel to the public,and adopts a multi-faceted and composite rooftop function arrangement,combining the consideration of user experience and integrating green design to make it symbiotic with the urban space environment.Thirdly,through the analysis and summarization of key cases,combined with the previous theoretical research,the contemporary urban resort hotel rooftop space design strategies are proposed,namely "rooftop space ontology design strategy","interaction between rooftop space and urban space",and "rooftop space design strategy which based on user experience".Finally,the design strategy is integrated into the design of the Dali Original Soup Hot Spring Hotel project,which the author participated in,and the theory is confirmed through practice,in order to provide some reference for the design of contemporary urban resort hotel rooftop space in China.
