As a gem of Chinese folk art,Yangjiabu New Year Paintings depict the social reality and daily life of the people,possessing significant cultural and artistic values.In-depth research and protection are necessary to allow the art of New Year Paintings to continue to follow the cultural rules of inheritance.The filial piety culture contained in Yangjiabu New Year Paintings is the core of traditional Chinese culture,which has undergone constant transformation and sublimation with the passage of time.Moreover,the government has gradually recognized the importance of "tradition" in constructing a sense of national identity among ethnic and folk cultures,leading to systematic protection of intangible cultural heritage,including traditional folk arts like Yangjiabu New Year Paintings.Although the survival status of these cultural arts has improved,there is still a lack of deep awareness of traditional culture at the national level.Therefore,it is crucial to arouse the public’s spontaneous recognition of traditional culture to ensure the longevity of this heritage in the world of art.This article examines the profound cultural connotations of filial piety culture in Yangjiabu New Year Paintings from the perspective of cultural identity.Various research methods such as literature research,field surveys,case analysis,and questionnaire surveys are used to explore the design methods and paths for the art of traditional New Year Paintings to be carried on in modern times through cultural and creative design.Firstly,the article introduces the theory of cultural identity to discuss the coupling between cultural identity and New Year Paintings and explore the specific manifestation of cultural identity in New Year Paintings.Secondly,the article interprets and analyzes the visual language of Yangjiabu New Year Paintings from the aspects of composition,color expression,and graphic elements,providing important theoretical basis and style references for the follow-up cultural and creative design practices of Yangjiabu New Year Paintings.Thirdly,based on the cultural identity perspective,the article proposes a path for the revitalization of Yangjiabu New Year Painting cultural and creative design,which includes a series of design principles and specific cultural and creative design cases analysis using symbol translation,symbolic metaphor,and artistic conception interpretation as the design methods.Finally,combining the theoretical analysis and practical design,the conclusion is drawn that increasing the protection and inheritance efforts for the New Year paintings can avoid the disconnection between the New Year paintings and the times and society,laying a solid historical foundation for cultural identity construction.Connecting the present and the past through cultural and creative products can reintegrate New Year paintings into modern life,allowing ancient folk art to shine and further promote cultural confidence and self-improvement.Therefore,regardless of how the protection work for Yangjiabu New Year Paintings will be carried out in the future,it should keep up with the times rather than remain unchanged.The exploration of filial piety culture in New Year Paintings,the recreation of visual images in New Year Paintings,and the design innovation of cultural and creative products based on New Year Paintings are actually continuous reconstructions of the "past" and "memory".It is an important cultural practice to establish the sense of cultural identity of the Chinese nation,which can reshape the national cultural image externally and strengthen cultural identity awareness internally."Inheriting without being trapped in the past,innovating without departing from tradition" is the core of Yangjiabu New Year Painting cultural and creative design.Based on the perspective of cultural identity,this article explores the contemporary artistic value of filial piety-themed Yangjiabu New Year Paintings,raises people’s awareness of Yangjiabu New Year Paintings and their cultural heritage,brings traditional New Year Paintings back into the public’s view,awakens people’s sense of cultural identity,and makes the art of Yangjiabu New Year Paintings enduring and the spirit of excellent traditional Chinese culture enduring.
