Electric vehicles(EVs),as an alternative to conventional fuel vehicles for mobility, play an important role in reducing dependence on fossil fuels and reducing environmental pollution. In order to achieve widespread public acceptance of EVs and vigorously promote their use,it is of fundamental importance to study the siting of charging stations. At present, the promotion of EVs is to some extent hindered by the common phenomenon of inadequate layout of charging stations, poor utilisation or difficulty in finding a single pile. Therefore,it is necessary to improve the reasonableness, feasibility and science of charging station location by fully considering the charging demand of EV users, the service range and capacity of charging stations, the actual road network structure and the bilateral cost between enterprises and users. The study mainly includes the following parts:(1)Research on the prediction of charging demand for electric vehicles. The study divided 13 traffic cells and obtained a peak hour flow ratio of 9% for the study area based on the surveyed traffic volume. The classical four-stage method of traffic planning was selected to forecast the EV distribution in the study area, and the future OD distribution was predicted using the gravity model method, and the peak hour EV charging demand for the area was predicted to be 445 vehicles based on this prediction.(2)A site selection plan based on the minimisation impedance model was formulated. The impedance interruption was set at 3.8km service radius of the charging station, and eight charging station siting options were obtained under the conditions of meeting the regional peak hour EV charging demand, full coverage of the charging demand area, and the shortest distance travelled by users.(3)Comparative analysis of site selection options.Firstly, cost comparison was carried out and the study obtained that the minimum cost was reached when the number of charging stations built in the region was 9,which was 23,964,560,000 RMB,corresponding to the construction levels of: level 4,level 3,level 4,level 4,level 4,level 3,level 4,level 3,level 4,level 3,level 4.The optimal route planning and OD cost analysis was then carried out for options 3 to 8,and the number of routes available to users increased from 166 to 255,with the level of convenience for users increasing with the number of charging stations. The cost-optimal solution fully satisfies the "10-minute charging circle" requirement, with an average OD cost matrix of 2198.66 m,a reduction of 258.13 m compared to the existing facilities. The accessibility of the charging stations is higher in the core and lowest in the north-west.The statistical means of the accessibility distribution for the cost-optimal scenario are higher than for the existing facilities and are more evenly distributed, indicating that the demand points are better taken into account. The study adds an OD cost matrix and user accessibility perspective to measure the ease of charging for electric vehicle users. In addition, the study combines traffic planning methods with GIS,takes into account the influence of the curvature of the actual road network, and uses data such as traffic volumes from field surveys to make the siting more realistic and to provide a new way of thinking about the siting of actual charging stations.
