From 2012 to 2022,the total output value of the Chinese construction industry experienced a steady increase,from 13,721.79 billion yuan to 31.198 billion yuan.Output has more than doubled in the last 10 years,and the overall growth rate is very fast.At present,the market entry threshold of the whole construction industry is also being lowered,which indicates that the government’s requirements for construction practitioners,capital scale,technical equipment level and other aspects are gradually reduced,and the approval conditions are also streamlined.Competition in the construction sector is intensifying,granting a greater number of small and medium-sized construction companies the opportunity to participate.Unfortunately,the majority of these enterprises are plagued by inadequate management,unclear market positioning,sluggish development,and a tendency to lag behind in the intense competition.As a case study,this paper selects C Construction Engineering Co.Established in 2017 with a registered capital of 30 million yuan,a typical construction enterprise of small and medium size,its primary business location is Nanning City.During the period of rapid urbanization and infrastructure construction in China,C Company was in its early stages.After five years of rapid expansion,the company’s various businesses have developed steadily,but its problems such as weak market competitiveness have gradually become prominent,especially its disadvantages in talent training and brand strength,which require urgent transformation and upgrading.After a thorough investigation of the company’s external and internal surroundings,its advantages,disadvantages,prospects,and obstacles,SWOT,QSPM,and other instruments were utilized to assess and select suitable tactics.Comparing and combining with the company’s actual situation,it is proposed that the C company should adopt the diversification strategy as the overall strategy and the centralization strategy as the competitive one.Strategizing for the rural market,consulting and design business expansion,personnel instruction,cost regulation,and corporate culture enhancement can be cultivated and implemented to reach the aforesaid goals.This strategy also serves as a beneficial reference for other small and medium-sized construction businesses in the area,utilizing BIM technology and prefabricated construction technology.
