| The report of the 20 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China(CPC)has opened the accelerator key for the construction of "Digital China".With the development of big data,cloud computing,artificial intelligence,5G and other digital information technologies and their exploration and promotion in the manufacturing industry,using digital information technology to promote change is considered to be a new breakthrough that can solve the problems faced by manufacturing enterprises at present.However,the existing research still has some limitations on how manufacturing enterprises should deploy and carry out digital transformation,which is a long-term and systematic development strategy.This thesis selects XCMG as a case company,and uses case study and comparative analysis methods to conduct in-depth theoretical analysis and practical summary of the paths and effect of XCMG’s digital transformation from the perspective of value creation.Through all the research,It finds that XCMG’s digital transformation has been gradually upgraded and progressed along four major paths: the single-point entry,the linear series,the network integration and the further expansion.In the process of these four major transformation paths,XCMG have correspondingly formed digital unit capability,digital chain capability,digital network capability and digital ecological capability,and successively realized the value creation evolution process through the product-based,the needs of customer-based,the whole value chain management-based and the needs of ecological stakeholders-based.It also founds that the digital transformation carried out by XCMG’s various transformation paths in the performance of financial indicators has achieved positive results in improving production efficiency,supply chain management efficiency,value chain collaborative innovation and digital ecological expansion.The performance of non-financial indicators shows that it has significantly improved the R&D innovation of enterprises,promoted innovative development of business models,and optimized the human capital structure.According to the research,we can draw the following enlightenment:enterprises should fully realize the importance and urgency of digital transformation,and gradually plan the transformation path by finding the entry point of their own digital transformation;enterprises should pay attention to grasp the evolution law of value creation in each transformation path stage,and constantly extend the application boundary of digital transformation;It is necessary for companies to continue to develop the digital ability of employees and deepen the reform of human capital structure.This thesis has certain theoretical and practical significance.From the theoretical point of view,it can enrich the existing literature research on digital transformation and value creation by analyzing XCMC’s realization paths of digital transformation under special framework and evolution mechanism of value creation in each path through the case study.From the practical point of view,this thesis,through in-depth analysis and summary of the paths and effect of XCMG’s digital transformation,answers the puzzle of how manufacturing enterprises should do when facing digital transformation,and provides enlightenment for helping manufacturing enterprises adapt to the new requirements and challenges of digital economy development. |
