| In recent years,outdoor activities have become an important way for older people to maintain their physical and mental health,but the deterioration of their physiological functions has increased the risks of travelling.In this context,mobility aids,as an important aid for the elderly,can effectively reduce travel safety risks and improve the ability of the elderly to travel.The current state of development of the mobility assistance industry in China is unsatisfactory,with product design lacking consideration for the impact of elderly people’s life scenarios,so it is imperative to research and design mobility assistance products that are suitable for the rich life scenarios of the elderly.Scenario-based thinking is often used in product design to analyse user needs,optimise the design process and enhance the product experience.This study uses scenario-based thinking to analyse user needs from the perspective of scenarios,changing the traditional way of thinking around "product" design,expanding the existing product design approach for mobility aids for the elderly,and providing a reference for the scenario-based,intelligent and innovative design of mobility aids.This paper focuses on the following elements:1.By collating the relevant literature on scenario-based thinking and mobility product design,we sort out the status of scenario-related concepts,theories and domestic and international research on mobility products,summarise the application methods of scenario-based thinking,the components of scenarios and the status of mobility product design,and sort out the characteristics of the elderly group.2.Using field observation method and user interview method,combined with scenario-based thinking to sort out the usage scenarios of mobility assistance products for the elderly.Summarise the results of the preliminary research,create a research questionnaire,conduct quantitative research on the needs of mobility assistance products for the elderly,then use the Kano model to categorise scenario needs,combine scenario behavioural characteristics,extract scenario needs for the elderly,and provide a basis for the formulation of mobility assistance product design principles.3.Based on the above research,a product design model based on scenario-based thinking for mobility assistance for the elderly is constructed,the principles of scenario-based design for ECIF mobility assistance products are proposed,combined with the important nodes of the product design process,and the user-centred experience of mobility assistance products for the elderly is optimised from a scenario perspective,and a scenario-based thinking product design process for mobility assistance for the elderly is proposed.4.To apply scenario-based design strategies to the design of four-wheeled mobility aids for the elderly in order to improve the experience of using mobility products and to verify the feasibility of the above product design process.Research has shown that analysing people and products through a scenario perspective can more accurately grasp the needs of user scenarios,opening a breakthrough for product experience upgrades and improving the safety and comfort of older people’s journeys,thus achieving an improved quality of life. |
