In this study, seven protein feed ingredients were selected for a robust database on the nutritional value of pet diets, and the gas metabolism of Beagles was measured using open respirometry combined with digestive metabolism tests.Compare different methods for evaluating the effective energy value of feedstuffs and define the appropriate substitution ratio for the difference method. The effective energy values of the meat and bone meal, fish meal, corn gluten meal, soya bean meal,Tenebrio-molitor meal, and yeast extract for Beagles were determined using the difference method. The thesis is divided into two main sections:Experiment 1 was to compare the direct and difference methods to determine the exergy value of the chicken meal in adult female beagle diets.Six 12-month-old female Beagle were selected. The direct method adopts a 100% chicken meal diet;the difference method feeds the basal and 3 experimental diets, and the 3 experimental diets use 15%,30%,and 45% chicken meal to replace the basal diet, respectively. The experiment was divided into 5 periods, each period was 10 days(3 days in the pre-feeding period,1 day in the adaptation period, and 6 days in the trial period). The results showed that: 1.The apparent digestibility of DM,OM,CP,EE,and GE of100% diet was significantly higher than that of the alternative diets(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the apparent digestibility of DM,OM,and EE between the 30% and 45% groups(P>0.05).2.The DE and ME of 100% group were significantly higher than those of the alternative diets(P<0.05);however,ME: DE was significantly lower than that of the alternative diets(P<0.05).There were no significant difference in NE and ME:NE among the groups(P>0.05).3.There was no significant difference in the apparent digestibility of chicken meal DM,EE,DE,and NE between 30% and 45% groups(P>0.05).There was no significant difference in ME of the chicken meal among the groups(P>0.05).There was no significant difference in ME:NE between 100% group and 45% group(P>0.05),which was significantly lower than the 30% group(P<0.05).4.The water content and fecal score in 100% group were significantly higher than the group in the difference method(P<0.05),and the feces score in the 45% group was significantly higher than that in30% group(P<0.05).Therefore,there is a significant difference when using different substitution ratios of the difference method and the direct method to determine the effective energy value of the chicken meal in Beagles.Under the conditions of this test, the appropriate replacement ratio for determining the effective energy value of the chicken meal in dog food is 30%.In Experiment 2,according to the substitution ratio obtained in Experiment 1,the nutrient digestibility and energy value of 6 protein feedstuffs were determined by difference method.Six adult female Beagle dogs of similar weight were selected. The experimental diets were: basal diet and 6 kinds of experimental diets(the proportion of basal diets replaced by fish meal, meat and bone meal, corn gluten meal, soybean meal,Tenebrio-molitor meal, and yeast extract was 30%).The results showed that the digestible energy of fish meal, meat and bone meal, corn gluten meal, soybean meal,Tenebrio-molitor meal, and yeast extract were: 16.48 MJ/kg,6.73 MJ/kg,17.46MJ/kg,15.36 MJ/kg,22.95 MJ/kg,and 15.11 MJ/kg;the metabolic energy is 15.71MJ/kg,6.54 MJ/kg,15.80 MJ/kg,14.96 MJ/kg,15.83 MJ/kg,and 8.90 MJ/kg;the net energy value is 12.54 MJ/kg,6.18 MJ/kg,11.21 MJ/kg,9.00 MJ/kg,11.13 MJ/kg,and8.90 MJ/kg.In summary, different methods or substitution ratios will significantly differ in the evaluation results. The appropriate substitution ratio for determining the exergy value of the chicken meal in dog food is 30%.The digestible energy of fish meal, meat and bone meal, corn gluten meal, soybean meal,Tenebrio-molitor meal, and yeast extract are 16.48 MJ/kg,6.73 MJ/kg,17.46 MJ/kg,15.36 MJ/kg,22.95 MJ/kg,and 15.11 MJ/kg;the metabolic energy is 15.71 MJ/kg,6.54 MJ/kg,15.80 MJ/kg,14.96 MJ/kg,15.83 MJ/kg,and 8.90 MJ/kg;the net energy value is 12.54 MJ /kg,6.18 MJ/kg,11.21 MJ/kg,9.00 MJ/kg,11.13 MJ/kg,and 8.90 MJ/kg. |
