| Wheat is a widely planted and indispensable staple crop in the world. The total output of wheat is only lower than that of corn, and it is one of the staple food for people all over the world.Nearly half of the people in the world use wheat as their staple crop.China is the major wheat growing country, the largest wheat growing place in the world and the largest wheat consuming country in the world.Ensuring the production and development of wheat is of great significance to ensuring China’s food security and the basic livelihood of the residents. The total output of wheat increased nearly tenfold from13.82 million tons in 1952 to 136.94 million tons in 2021,with almost no change in China’s planting area.Among them, new varieties of wheat have contributed a great deal to the increase in wheat output since the founding of the PRC.Different from general fields, the life cycle of wheat is too short.According to the data from the National Agricultural Technology Center,55% of wheat varieties with an area of more than 100,000 mu have a life cycle of only 1 to 3 years. The promotion of new wheat varieties has played an important role in promoting the upgrading of wheat varieties. In recent years, through the efforts of the state,a series of new wheat varieties with high quality, high yield,multi-resistance,drought resistance and water saving have been bred and promoted, which have made outstanding contributions to ensuring China’s food security.China’s wheat varieties have also experienced many changes to the current diversity, and wheat breeders have made outstanding contributions.Continuous innovation and breakthroughs in the field of scientific research and breeding have consolidated and expanded the leading edge in the development of the wheat breeding industry, and also strengthened our confidence and strength to turn over the seed industry. At the same time,we also need to face up to the national situation. As the largest wheat production province in China,Henan accounts for about a quarter of the country’s area and output. However, according to the investigation and research, the conversion rate of agricultural scientific and technological achievements in Henan is only between 30%-40%,and less than 20% of the real scale is only half of the developed countries in Europe and America. As one of the important agricultural scientific and technological achievements in Henan, new wheat varieties seriously hinder the development of agricultural science and technology. As the main body of the adoption of new wheat varieties, how to guide farmers to choose new wheat varieties is of great significance to improve the quality and output of wheat and improve the conversion rate of agricultural science and technology. In view of this, based on research data and guided by the basic theories of farmer behavior,UTAUT2 technology acceptance and use integration and use theory,VAM perceptual value theory and other basic theories, this paper expounds the influence mechanism of farmers’ behavior in adopting new wheat varieties from two aspects: in terms of farmers’ basic characteristics and core variables.Through systematic analysis, this paper draws following conclusions: in farmers’ control variables, whether to receive education years, whether to buy agricultural insurance, and whether to pay attention to agricultural technology information have a significant positive impact on farmers’ adoption of new wheat varieties, while age, gender, agricultural nature, wheat cultivation area, number of domestic farmers, and training of new agricultural technology training have no significant impact on farmers’ adoption of new wheat varieties;in terms of core variables, farmers’ individual innovation, social impact and hard work expectation have a significant positive impact on farmers’ adoption of new wheat Finally, according to the empirical results, several corresponding suggestions are put forward:(1)strengthen the research and development of new wheat varieties and improve the quality of new wheat varieties;(2)increase the publicity of new wheat varieties to improve the reputation of new wheat varieties;(3)attach importance to the training of new agricultural technologies and improve farmers’ awareness of new technologies. |
