Comprehensive Evaluation Of 97 Nymphaea Species Introduction Value Based On AHP

Nymphaea belongs to Nymphaeaceae in order Nymphaeales,whih is one of the most important aquatic ornamental plants and has has very rich germplasm resources.Nymphaea includes more than fifty native species and thousands of horticultural species of two ecotypes: the hardy water lily and tropical water lily.In recent years,a large number of water lily varieties have been introduced and cultivated in China.However,there are still few comprehensive evaluation models to observe and evaluate the growth performance and adaptability of water lily varieties in batch.I will establish a scientific and reasonable comprehensive evaluation model for the introduction of water lily,which would be used to screen out the excellent water lily varieties suitable for cultivation and introduction in Nanjing area,and to find out the water lily varieties or individuals suitable for different application purposes.In this study,a scientific and reasonable comprehensive evaluation model for Nymphaea introduction was established by AHP,and 97 Nymphaea plants were introduced and evaluated.The main results are as follows:According to different application purposes,the varieties were introduced and evaluated respectively,and the varieties with special characteristics or individuals were obtained from five aspects of landscape engineering application,micro-pot application,varieties with rare traits,varieties with leaf value,and classification of different color systems.This part identified 10 morphological traits index:flower diameter,petal length,petal width,leaf markings,leaf margin shape,leaf length,leaf width,sepals length,sepals width,emergent height,and 10 ornamental characteristics including flower color,flower shape,leaf color,leaf shape,floral fragrance,polyphyll type,sepal color,florescence day,viviparous status,opening time.And four adaptive traits indicators,including disease resistance,the degree of management,growth conditions and reproductive capacity,as well as two added value of the indicators,including edible value,the specificity.Then assigned the values to all indicators and divide four grades.Finally,the model was modified according to the actual numerical conditions of flower diameter,petal length and width,and sepal length and width,so as to obtain a comprehensive evaluation model for the introduction value of Nymphaea in Nanjing.Using the comprehensive evaluation model,build good introduction value of 97 Nymphaea varieties of 26 indicators measured statistics,calculation and analysis to the scores of each type,and grading evaluation work,got the good with high adaptability and strong ornamental water lily varieties,could be divided into level Ⅰ good varieties of all varieties tested,Ⅱ seed and Ⅲ thoroughbred,Ⅳ poorer in four levels.According to the data obtained,the characteristics of hardy water lily and tropical water lily were distinguished and compared.According to the score of each water lily variety,the excellent variety of Ⅰgrade was obtained,including N.immutabilis,N.atrans,N.‘Afterglow’,N.carpentariae,N.‘Purple Joy’,N.‘Tanzanite’,N.rubra,N.‘Black Beauty’,N.‘Blue Bird’,N.‘Purple Jane’,N.‘King of Siam’,N.‘ Pink Pom Pom’,N.‘Paul Stetson’,N.‘Eidorado’,N.‘Red Flare’,N.‘Wanvisa’,N.‘Siam Purple 1’,N.‘Siam Purpe.2’,N.‘Ruby’,which are most worthy of planting and promoting in the Nanjing.According to different application purposes,the measurement varieties were introduced and evaluated,and the varieties with special characteristics or individuals were obtained from five aspects of landscape engineering application,micro-pot application,varieties with rare traits,varieties with leaf value,and classification of different color systems.Garden engineering application recommended by tropical water lily varieties N.‘Purple Joy’,N.‘Black Beauty’,N.‘Afterglow’,N.‘King of Siam’,N.‘Tanzanite’,N.‘Eidorado’,N.‘Paul Stetson’,N.‘Siam Purple 1’,N.‘Blue Bird’,N.‘Red Flare’,hardy water lily varieties are N.‘Wanvisa’,N.‘Purpura Pom Pom’,N.‘Purple Jane’,N.‘Highlight’,N.‘ Pink Pom Pom’,N.‘Miss Siam’,N.‘Joey Tomocik’,N.‘Peter Slocum’,N.‘Siam Rose’.Recommend varieties for micropotting applications are N.‘Helvola’,N.minuta,N.potamophila,N.‘Purple Jane’,N.‘Chrysantha’,N.‘Redeker Rose’,N.‘Red Dwarf’,N.rudgeana.The excellent varieties with rare characters are N.‘Pink Pom Pom’,N.‘Lily Pons’,N.‘Purpura Pom Pom’,N.caerulea,N.‘Black Beauty’,N.‘Nangkwag Khaol’,N.‘Nangkwag Daeng Bilay’,N.‘Wanvisa’,N.‘Jakkaphong’,N.‘Suwanna’,N.immutabilis,N.atrans,N.carpentariae.Sixteen species of water lily with higher leaf ornamental value were recommended,such as N.potamophila,N.‘Wanvisa’,N.‘Joey Tomocik’,N.‘Arc-En-Ciel’,N.‘Texas Dawn’.All measured varieties were divided into purple,pink,red,yellow and white according to color system,and divided into solid color,compound color,gradual change and sprinkled gold for detailed classification,so as to facilitate the introducers to choose preferred varieties according to the color of water lily.
