Effects Of Mulberry Leaf Extract On Meat Quality And Immunity Indexes In Arbor Acres Broilers | | Posted on:2023-04-15 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | | Country:China | Candidate:J C Wen | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:2543307142971109 | Subject:Agriculture | | Abstract/Summary: | | | Mulberry leaf extract contains active components such as polysaccharides,flavonoids and alkaloids,which can improve the production performance of livestock and poultry,reduce fat deposition and improve intestinal morphology.However,there is no research on its impact on meat quality and immune function.This experiment took arbor acres(AA)broilers as the research object to explore the effects of mulberry leaf extract on its growth performance,meat quality and immune indexes,and to explore the mechanism of its effect on meat quality from antioxidant indexes.192 1-day-old AA broilers were randomly divided into 4 groups,with 6replicates in each group and 8 chickens in each replicate.The four groups were a control group and three experimental groups:the control group was fed with basic diet,and the experimental group was added with 400mg/kg,800mg/kg and 1200mg/kg mulberry leaf extract respectively.The experimental period was 42 days.The experiment was divided into two stages.The first stage was 1-21 days old and the second stage was 22-42 days old.The broilers were sampled at 21 and 42 days old respectively.The results show that:1.Production performance:the addition of three levels of mulberry leaf extract in the diet had no significant effect on the growth performance index and energy utilization rate of AA broilers(P>0.05).2.Meat quality:(1)Effects on muscle apparent indexes:the addition of 800mg/kg and 1200mg/kg mulberry leaf extract in the diet could significantly reduce the drip loss rate of breast and leg muscles of AA broilers(P<0.05),and improve the yellowness and redness of breast and leg muscles of AA broilers(P<0.05),All three levels could significantly reduce the abdominal fat weight(P<0.05).(2)Effects on intramuscular nutrients:adding three levels of mulberry leaf extract to the diet can significantly reduce the crude fat content in pectoral and leg muscles(P<0.01).(3)Impact on machine rationality index:Adding three mulberry leaf extracts to the diet could significantly increase the content of monounsaturated fatty acids and polyunsaturated fatty acids in breast muscle fatty acids of AA broilers(P<0.01),and significantly reduce the content of saturated fatty acids(P<0.01).Adding three levels of mulberry leaf extract to the diet could significantly increase the content of glutathione peroxidase,catalase from micrococcus lysodeikticus and total antioxidant capacity in serum of AA broilers(P<0.05),and significantly reduce the content of malondialdehyde in serum(P<0.05).3.Immune indexes:adding three levels of mulberry leaf extract to the diet had no significant effect on the immune organ index of AA broilers(P>0.05),but it could significantly increase the contents of serum lysozyme,acid phosphatase,interleukin-2 and interleukin-6(P<0.05).In conclusion,this study shows that:(1)Adding mulberry leaf extract to the diet can improve the muscle color of AA broilers,reduce muscle drip loss,crude fat and abdominal fat weight,and change the fatty acid composition of pectoral muscle:increase the content of unsaturated fatty acid and reduce the content of saturated fatty acid.The mechanism of improving meat quality may be related to the improvement of antioxidant capacity of AA Broilers by mulberry leaf extract.(2)In addition,the effect of mulberry leaf extract on meat quality and serum immunity increased with the increase of addition concentration,among which 1200mg/kg was the best. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | mulberry leaves, Broiler, Prod performance, Meat quality, Antioxidation, immune | | Related items |
