| “In 2021,the species of Chinese stingless wasp,Lepidotrigona arciferal,was recorded,when a survey on bee resources in Motuo County,Tibet,was conducted.There are 4 genera and 11 species of stingless bees recorded in China,which are distributed in Yunnan,Hainan,Taiwan Province,Guangxi and Tibet.The research on stingless bees started earlier in foreign countries,but it didn’t go deep in China until 2000.A preliminary study on the biological characteristics of Acanthoptera himalayana and the analysis of the nutritional components of its honey laid the foundation for the development and utilization of Acanthoptera himalayana.The main results are as follows:(1)The morphological indexes of the worker bees and the adult drones of the L.arciferal were measured.A total of 27 indexes were measured by the worker bees,and a total of 29 indexes were measured by the drones,which were two more indexes than the worker bees,namely,one back plate and one web plate.The size of the Himalayan scaleless wasp is relatively small,with a body length of 4.876±0.049 mm for workers and 5.33±0.02 mm for males.The overall color is black,with yellowish brown hindquarters and brownish brown feet.There are fine and soft hairs on the head and chest.The feet of worker bees have obvious fluff,while the feet of male bees have only a small amount of fluff.The body size of the L.arciferal is smaller than that of the Apis cerana and Apis mellifera ligustica Spin.Among the stingless wasps found in China,they belong to the medium body size and are suitable for pollinating small flower bud plants.(2)The L.arciferal likes to build nests in dead tree caves,with a length of about 57 cm and a width of about 13 cm.At the entrance,there is a trumpet shaped nest made of collected propolis.The bee nest consists of three areas:a brood area,a honey storage area,and a powder storage area.The Himalayan scaleless wasp has a strong ability to control the humidity in the nest,and can maintain the humidity in the nest at about60%.However,the temperature in the nest fluctuates greatly,and the temperature within a day can reach a difference of 15.2℃.Temperature has a significant impact on the daily activity of the L.arciferal.On sunny days,the Himalayan scaleless wasp is very active and can nest more than250 times a day.On overcast days,its daily activity decreases significantly,and on rainy days,it does not nest.Compared to other species of stingless wasps found in China,the Himalayan scale stingless wasp is more docile in character and has no obvious aggression against humans,making it more suitable for human breeding.(3)Nutritional analysis of the honey of L.arciferal:The moisture content of the honey was 23.97%,which reached the national standard of second-class honey,the acidity reached 153m L/kg,and the amylase value was 14.59 m L/(g.h)~-.Five kinds of vitamins were detected:VC(430.9mg/kg),VB9(94.9 mg/kg),VB6(27.3 mg/kg),VB2(4.1 mg/kg),VB1(23.0 mg/kg),containing a variety of organic acids and amino acids,containing 27 kinds of chemical components of traditional Chinese medicine,There is a synergistic effect between these chemical constituents and they have certain physiological activity.High protein content of 0.54%,contains 5 kinds of minerals,high nutritional value,to promote human body development,as well as the metabolism of various tissues and organs has a very important role.Compared with Apis cerana honey and Apis mellifera ligustica Spin honey in Tibet,L.arciferal honey has a high moisture content,low sugar content,high vitamin content,richer nutritional value,and unique taste,which has the potential to develop high-quality honey. |
