Evaluation Of The Effect Of Kinesio Tape Effect On Upper Extremity And Hand Dysfunction After Stroke

Objective Through the treatment by the method of Kinesio Tape effect on upper extremity and hand dysfunction after stroke,and compared with acupuncture treatment,explore Kinesio Tape effect on the treatment of upper extremity and hand dysfunction after stroke treatment effect,providing an objective basis for clinical application.Methods There were 59 cases of stroke patients with upper extremity and hand dysfunction that met the criteria which were randomly divided into basic rehabilitation group(referred to basis group)(20 cases)、 acupuncture treatment+basic rehabilitation group(referred to acupuncture group)(19 cases)、Kinesio Tape treatment+basic rehabilitation group(referred to Kinesio Tape group)(20 cases).The basic group using conventional rehabilitation,on the basis of the basic group,another two groups were added acupuncture treatment and Kinesio Tape treatment,5 days a week for a total of 6 weeks of treatment.Three groups were assessed by Brunnstrom scores(upper limbs and hands)、Fugl-Meyer assessment(upper part)、Motor Status Scale(MSS)、modified Ashworth scale、Modified Barthel Index in pre-treatment and after 2、4、6 weeks of treatment,and the assessment date were measured for analysis.Results Compared with before treatment,the Fugl-Meyer score(upper part)and MSS scores(upper and total score)were significantly improved in three groups after treatment(p <0.01),After 4 weeks of treatment,the effect of the acupuncture group was better than that of the basic group(p<0.05).After 6 weeks of treatment,the effect of the group was better than that of the basic group(p<0.05).The improved Barthel index score of the three groups was significantly higher than that before treatment(p<0.01),but there was no statistically significant difference between the three groups after treatment(p>0.05).There was no significant difference in the improvement of Ashworth grading in the three groups after treatment(p>0.05).Conclusion Kinesio Tape can improve post-stroke hemiplegia upper extremity and hand dysfunction,the effect is similar to acupuncture treatment,better than basic rehabilitation.
