Objective:The changes of serum S100 B protein level in rats with hyperbilirubinemia brain injury were detected before and after GM1 intervention. To investigate the effect of GM1 on NHB and its possible mechanism,so as to guide the prevention and treatment of BE.Methods:There were 120 seven-day-old rats with healthy and clean.Forty rats were randomly assigned as hyperbilirubinemia group(group A).We injected them with 150mg/kg bilirubin through the abdominal cavity. And the remaining 40 rats were intraperitoneally injected with bilirubin 150mg/kg and GM1 sodium solution 10mg/kg(once a day for 3consecutive days)as GM1 intervention group(group B).Then all the remaining rats were injected with the same amount and volume of 0.9% Nacl as control group. The biological behavior changes of rats were observed from modeling to execution.8 rats were randomly selected from each group at 6 h,12 h,24 h,48 h and 72 h,respectively. And the heart blood and brain tissue were collected.ELISA assay was used to detect S100 B protein. The pathological changes of nerve cells were observed by HE staining and TUNEL assay under microscope. The mortality rate was calculated. And the related data were statistically analyze. And draw conclusions.Results:(1)There was no abnormal behavior in the control group rats. There were different degrees of behavioral changes in group A and group B.And group A rats were more obvious than group B.(2)The brain structure of control rats was largely normal, whereas group A and B rats showed various degrees of neuroedema degeneration and neuronal apoptosis over time.(3)The serum S100 B levels and the apoptotic rate in groups A and B were significantly higher than those in control group at the corresponding time point, which was statistically significant(P <0.05).The serum S100 B level and the apoptotic rate in group B were lower than group A,but compared with control group, they were still higher,There was statistically significant differences(P <0.05).Conclusion:S100B protein can be used as an important reference index to judge the injury degree of central nervous system in the early stage.GM1 can reduce the damage of serum bilirubin to central nervous system and play a protective role in brain.
