Objective:To investigate the current situation of mobile health information seeking behaviors(MHISB)in patients with lung cancer and explore the effects of mobile health service use attitude, care satisfaction, and electronic health literacy(eHL)on patients’ information seeking behaviors and providing a theoretical reference for promoting the application of mobile health service in lung cancer. Methods:A cross-sectional study was conducted. From April 2021 to September 2021,Convenience sampling was used to select 429 lung cancer patients who met admission criteria in the departments of thoracic surgery, respiration, and oncology of a hospital in Nanchong city. The survey tools include a general information questionnaire,self-made mobile health information seeking behaviors questionnaire for lung cancer, and a Chinese version of an electronic health literacy scale. The descriptive analysis, univariate analysis and multiple linear regression analysis were completed by SPSS 25.0.Mplus 7.0 was used to establish and verify the hypothesis model of influencing factors. The effect mode and intensity of each influencing factor on mobile health information seeking behaviors of lung cancer patients were analyzed. The test levelα=0.05.Results:A total of 448 questionnaires were distributed, and 429 valid questionnaires were recovered, with an effective rate of 95.8%.The score of mobile health information seeking behaviors characteristics of lung cancer patients was 10.29±3.65,at the medium level.Among the influencing factors of seeking behaviors, care satisfaction was 3.86±0.65,which was the highest score, followed by health information needs and use attitude, which were 3.58±0.80 and 3.12±0.81,respectively.The total score of electronic health literacy of lung cancer patients was 23.17±7.04,which was at the medium level. The scores of each dimension of eHL from high to low were information search 3.08±0.88,information judgment 2.92±1.02 and decision-making 2.51±0.91.Univariate analysis showed that the age(F=79.96,P<0.001),working status(F=3.02,P<0.05),education(F=4.08,P<0.05)and economic situation(F=7.02,P<0.001)of patients with lung cancer had significant effects on their mobile health information seeking behaviors.Multiple linear regression analysis shows that age, working status(on-the-job,retired,other),college degree or above, monthly family income(7000-10000 yuan,>10000 yuan),information needs, use attitude, care satisfaction enter the regression equation, which jointly explained 46.10%of the influencing factors of MHISB of lung cancer patients. This regression equation model was statistically significant(F=19.82,P<0.001).(6)The structural equation model shows that the information needs and use of the attitude of lung cancer patients are positive predictors of their seeking behaviors(β=0.08,P<0.05;β=0.41,P<0.001),while the care satisfaction and MHISB are negatively correlated(β=-0.38,P<0.001).As an interference variable, electronic health literacy plays an intermediary role in the influence path of information needs, use attitude, and care satisfaction on patients’ information seeking behaviors. Its standardized effect values are 0.61,0.07,and 0.23,respectively.Conclusion:The overall level of mobile health information seeking of lung cancer patients is medium, and most patients should improve their information seeking ability. The age, work status, education, economic situation, electronic health literacy, mobile health information use attitude, information needs and care satisfaction are important influencing factors of patients’ information seeking behaviors.Higher electronic health literacy, more unmet information needs and positive use attitude are the promoting factors of information seeking behaviors of lung cancer patients.Patients who are more satisfied with medical care are less likely to seek informal support from the Internet.Health education should focus on cultivating the electronic health literacy of lung cancer patients to improve their information seeking ability.Health institutions and portals should improve the accessibility and reliability of mobile health services to increase patients’ use willingness.
