Objective To arrange and study the theoretical opinions and clinical applications of The Classified Classic,detect its theoretical inheritance and development of The Yellow Emperor’s Inner Classic,expound its academic status and implications,enrich implications of Zhejiang School of The Yellow Emperor’s Inner Classic.Methods Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)literature collation and theoretical research methods were mainly applied,combining with the methods of genesis,hermeneutics and textual Research.Based on systematically compiling explanatory notes of The Classified Classic and seriously studying Appendices to ’The Classified Classic’ and Pictorial Appendices to ’The Classified Classic’,combined with clinical cases,used the methods of classic organization,careful analysis and comprehensive refinement,systematically collated and researched theories of The Classified Classic,inductively distilled the theoretical connotation and clinical application,in order to reveal its theoretical inheritance and development of The Yellow Emperor’s Inner Classic.Results 1.The Classified Classic fully inherited from The Yellow Emperor’s Inner Classic and formed an unique theory,combining with Zhang Jingyue’s accomplishments on The Book of Change,knowledge of astronomy and geography,TCM theories and clinical experiences.Main contents divided into seven parts,including the interconnection of TCM and The Book of Change,the same genesis of yin and yang,the value of true yang,the theory of Five Circuits and Six Qi,the deficiency and excess of Qi in pathogenesis,the usage of meridians and acupuncture points and the differences between acupuncture and moxibustion.The interconnection of TCM and The Book of Change paid attention on the Change of the heart,emphasized the theory of water and fire in Hetu and Luoshu which meant water and fire of the gate of vitality for the body,laid the foundation of the theory of the gate of vitality.The same genesis of yin and yang was an important theoretical basis for the holistic view of the human body,emphasizing they were integrated in Tai Ji and had the mutual root.The value of true yang attached importance to yang qi of the hole body,proposed the concept of ’true yang’,laid the theoretical basis of School of warming and supplementing.The theory of Five Circuits and Six Qi emphasized seasonal variations in qi and harmful hyperactivity and responding inhibition,enriched the theoretical connotation of chronomedicine.The deficiency and excess of Qi in pathogenesis interpreted that ’had or not had’ meant the deficiency and excess of Qi,enriched the theory of nineteen pathogenesis.The usage of meridians and acupuncture points recorded a large number of diagrams and formulas,clarified the concepts of proportional bone measurement and proportional body unite,provided a theoretical basis for meridians differentiation by dividing the meridians by the site of body.The differences between acupuncture and moxibustion put forward five rules of acupuncture and moxibustion,distinguished deficiency and excess in acupuncture,proposed that acupuncture was drain able and moxibustion was supplementary,provided theoretical guidance for acupuncture and moxibustion treatments.2.Theories of The Classified Classic were clinically instructive,including the theory which required mastering TCM and The Book of Change,the theory of yin and yang,the throry of water and fire of the gate of vitality,the theory of Five Circuits and Six Qi and the theory of meridian acupuncture.The theory which required mastering TCM and The Book of Change explained diseases by practising divination which was used for guiding treatments and health rehabilitation.By the usage of relative relationships of yin and yang,the theory of yin and yang explained thick and thin of smell,physiology and pathology,the five zang organs and pulse manifestation and pathogenesis and treatments,proposed that treatments should make yin and yang matched.The throry of water and fire of the gate of vitality distinguished the position and properties of the gate of vitality,proposed diseases of the gate of vitality were deficiency of yin and yang and should be treated with supplementing which mutually sought yin and yang,founded Left-Restoring and Right-Restoring to supplement yin and yang,was good at cooperating tonic medicines of yin and yang at the same time.The theory of Five Circuits and Six Qi elucidated pathogenesis through natural variations,pointed out that the essence of diseases was deficiency and excess of Qi of five zang organs,proposed principles of treating the same disease with different methods and treating different diseases by the same method.The theory of meridian acupuncture interpreted the effect of acupuncture points,clarified supplementing and drainage in acupuncture to enrich clinical treatments,summarized diseases of moxibustion to provided references on selecting acupuncture points in clinic.Conclusion The theory of Classified Classic was inherited from The Yellow Emperor’s Inner Classic and had innovative inventions.It was unique and was rich in theoretical content and philosophy,and had far-reaching academic impact and good clinical guidance application value.It was the representative work of Zhejiang School of The Yellow Emperor’s Inner Classic and had important enlightenment for the development of TCM theories.
